Binnie is looking for a Civil Technologist to join our Infrastructure Langley Division, which provides professional civil engineering services for local municipalities.
This position is full-time in our Langley Office. A relocation reimbursement will be offered if relocation is required for the opportunity.
You will be working with our friendly and supportive team of experienced Project Managers, Designers, and Engineers on a wide range of capital municipal projects.
You will conduct project site visits, carry out design work, CAD assignments, and quality management according to Binnie’s Organizational Quality Management Policy (OQM). This role offers great mentorship opportunities.
YOUR ROLE:
- Performing on-site inspection duties.
- Coordinating and communicating with external site stakeholders in consultation with the project team.
- Preparing AutoCAD and Civil3D designs and drawings and completing design calculations.
- Performing and documenting quality control checks on CAD drafting and Civil 3D work in accordance with Binnie’s Quality Management Program
- Preparing documentation for design folders and reports.
- Calculating design quantities for materials and preparation of cost estimates.
- Assisting in the preparation of project specifications and contract documents.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- 0-2 years of experience on projects in a civil consulting engineering environment.
- Completed Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Eligible to register as a Trainee Registrant with ASTTBC or as a Technician/Technologist-in-Training (T.T.) with ASET (must be done within first three months of employment).
- Previous hands-on experience working with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Previous experience with MMCD contract processes is an asset, particularly on the inspection side.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
- Ability to learn on the job, apply new knowledge effectively and take initiative.
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred.
- Willing to work outdoors on-site as required.

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $57,190 – $79,400 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
