Location: Guelph, ON

Work model: Hybrid - Guelph, Ontario office 3 days per week.

Employment: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Work authorization: Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of their employment.

Important eligibility requirements: This is a hybrid position based in Guelph, Ontario, requiring in-person attendance at our Guelph office three days per week. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Guelph (approximately 80 km) and be able to meet this onsite requirement. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of their employment with Bioenterprise Canada. We are looking to fill this position promptly. Candidates should be available to begin employment immediately or within a short notice period. This role is designed for an early-career professional with approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.

Position Overview

The Project Coordinator, Engine Initiatives helps deliver initiatives within Bioenterprise Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine, including Trade & Market Development, the Grow Ontario Accelerator Hub (GOAH), and other current and future initiatives.

Working with Program Managers and internal teams, the Project Coordinator helps move projects from planning through execution by managing timelines, activities, communications, events, participant engagement, documentation, data, and follow-up.

The role works with participating companies, farmers, advisors, mentors, industry partners, government stakeholders, and other members of Bioenterprise Canada’s network. The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

The position will be fulfilled through a hybrid work model, with regular onsite work at Bioenterprise Canada’s head office in Guelph, Ontario, and remote work. Occasional travel within Ontario may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

Project & Initiative Coordination

Coordinate the planning and delivery of projects and initiatives across the Engine portfolio.
Develop and maintain project schedules, workplans, trackers, action lists, and timelines.
Coordinate activities across internal teams, companies, advisors, and external partners.
Monitor milestones and deliverables, follow up on outstanding actions, and flag risks or delays.
Contribute to the launch and implementation of new Engine initiatives.
Improve project coordination processes, templates, tools, and systems.

Program & Participant Engagement

Coordinate participant intake, onboarding, scheduling, communications, and program activities.
Serve as a primary contact for routine participant inquiries and facilitate connections with appropriate Bioenterprise resources.
Coordinate interactions between companies and advisors, mentors, experts, and ecosystem partners.
Track participation, milestones, required documentation, and follow-up.
Help ensure a consistent, responsive, and professional participant experience.

Trade & Market Development and GOAH

Provide coordination across the Trade & Market Development portfolio, including the Grow Ontario Accelerator Hub.
Organize company meetings, advisory sessions, workshops, networking activities, and other program-specific activities.
Track program deliverables, company engagement, milestones, connections, and outcomes.
Adapt coordination support to program requirements and changing priorities.

Data, Reporting & Documentation

Collect and organize participation, activity, outcome, and financial data.
Track KPIs, milestones, deliverables, and outcomes.
Provide information and documentation for internal, government, and funder reporting.

Communications & Outreach

Work with Marketing and Communications on event promotion, program updates, success stories, and other content.
Ensure program information is accurate, timely, and consistent across relevant channels.

Professional Qualifications

Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, agriculture, agri-food, project management, administration, marketing, communications, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in project coordination, program coordination, business administration, events, client services, or a related role.
Experience coordinating multiple projects, activities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
Experience working with businesses, entrepreneurs, farmers, industry organizations, government, or other stakeholders is an asset.
Experience in the Canadian agriculture or agri-food sector is an asset.
Experience with government-funded programs, economic development, innovation, or business-support initiatives is an asset.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience with CRM, project management, database, or program management systems is an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
French language skills are an asset.
