About Commercial

Summary Description

The TM supports the company’s commercial objectives in their area. Maximize sales and market share within territory. Liaise with key customers and other relevant stakeholders. Must possess the capacity to coordinate and manage initiatives with a minimum amount of oversight.

Responsibilities

Achieve the sales forecast, market share and profit targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
Develop and implement an effective business plan to meet company defined goals within commercial and regulatory guidelines for marketed products.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all key customers.
Participate in business planning meetings.
Provide professional representation at medical meetings and conferences.
Maintain clinical and technical expertise in designated therapeutic areas.
Provide in service disease/product training programs for local medical staff, as needed.
Travel is required and will range from 20-50% depending on the geography and business requirements of the region.
Plan and execute educational activities
Liaise and collaborate with relevant internal peers (e.g.: Medical Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, etc.) as required.
Oversee all activities related to the marketing and promotion of BioMarin products in assigned territory.

SCOPE

The position is field based with responsibility for interfacing, cultivating and maintaining excellent working relationships with all key customers. The position will require travel within Canada and potentially occasional international travel.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in business or science discipline.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years’ specialty sales experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector.
Fluent in English and French.
Demonstrated effectiveness operating in complex organizational and regulatory environments.
Excellent written, oral, and communication skills.
Prior experience with rare-disease products desired.
Proven ability to work with all levels of management and the general workforce.
Strong problem solving and organization skills.
Motivated, self-starter with ability to appropriately prioritize issues, allocate resources, and be capable of working alone and making sound decisions.
Customer-oriented thinking.
Computer competency in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel and CRM systems.
Demonstrate willingness to grow and develop with the company.
