Payments Verification Analyst (Processing Center Advisor)

Location: Edmonton, AB – Primarily Remote (in-office will be required occasionally)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM

Contract: November 2, 2026–March 31, 2027

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Processing Center Advisor to support the review and verification of funding claims, documentation, and program information. This role involves analyzing financial and operational data, identifying discrepancies, applying policies and procedures, and ensuring accurate and compliant processing.

Key Responsibilities

Review claims and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Analyze financial, operational, and program data to identify discrepancies or potential issues.
Interpret and apply policies, procedures, guidelines, and program requirements.
Validate information using multiple sources and supporting documentation.
Calculate adjustments, recoveries, overpayments, and other financial impacts as required.
Prepare clear correspondence, reports, findings, recommendations, and documentation.
Maintain accurate records, working papers, and electronic files.
Communicate with stakeholders regarding documentation requirements, findings, and outcomes.
Support resolution of discrepancies and escalate complex issues when required.
Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
Participate in compliance, monitoring, and risk-based review activities.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma/GED.
3+ years of experience using MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, including formulas and sorting/filtering large spreadsheets.
3+ years of accurate data processing and/or data entry experience.
3+ years of experience working in government or a highly regulated environment with complex policies and governance requirements.
3+ years of experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business data and process requirements with clients/stakeholders.
1+ year of business writing, communication, and documentation experience.

Assets

Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of financial reporting and financial analysis experience using Excel.
Experience working within a Canadian public-sector organization.
Experience with grants, funding programs, payment verification, compliance reviews, quality assurance, or audit-related activities.
Experience with case management, databases, records-management systems, or similar business applications.
