We are seeking a Senior Associate, Accounting and Controls to join a Finance team on a 6-month contract. This role will support legal entity accounting, financial reporting, controllership, and financial control processes, while also contributing to strategic finance initiatives.
The successful candidate will support monthly and quarterly financial close activities, reporting and analytics, intercompany processes, and P&L reporting. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to provide financial oversight, resolve issues, and support process improvements.
The ideal candidate is a self-driven finance professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete monthly and quarterly finance activities, including accounting close, intercompany processes, bank disbursements, controllership functions, reporting, and analytics.
- Support accounting model implementation and ledger setup.
- Maintain an effective financial control environment and coordinate controls across affiliated entities.
- Support P&L reporting and analytics, including partnering with business stakeholders to understand and explain financial results.
- Provide finance oversight, guidance, and issue resolution to cross-functional teams.
- Support and lead strategic finance initiatives, including management equity plan activities and IFRS 18 implementation.
- Analyze financial information, identify issues and trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Support process improvements and ensure financial processes remain effective and well controlled.
Qualifications
- CPA designation with a related university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6–9 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, controllership, or related functions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills.
- Ability to apply technical accounting and financial knowledge to business issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Experience with Tableau and financial reporting/dashboard development is an asset.
- Experience in financial reporting, controllership, intercompany accounting, or P&L analysis is preferred.
