Senior Software Developer – ETL / Data Migration

Contract: December 3, 2026 – October 5, 2027

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer specializing in ETL and data migration to support a digital transformation initiative for a public-sector client. The successful candidate will lead data conversion activities, migrating data and document attachments from legacy applications to modernized systems while ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and implement ETL processes for complex data conversion and migration projects.
• Plan and execute end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to modernized applications.
• Analyze legacy data, perform data profiling, and identify data cleansing requirements.
• Develop data mapping, migration strategies, conversion scripts, and technical documentation.
• Extract, transform, load, validate, and reconcile data across multiple sources.
• Migrate document attachments and files from legacy systems to new platforms.
• Develop complex SQL queries and troubleshoot data-related technical issues.
• Conduct mock conversions, testing, post-migration audits, and exception reporting.
• Support migration cutover activities and provide pre- and post-conversion assistance.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project managers to ensure successful migration delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and documenting ETL processes for data conversion and migration.
• Extensive experience migrating data from legacy applications to modernized solutions.
• Strong experience with relational databases, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure SQL Database.
• Proficiency in complex SQL queries, data analysis, data validation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience migrating document attachments and files between legacy and modernized systems.
• Experience developing ETL mappings, data dictionaries, migration strategies, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of master data, transactional data, and information management principles.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full lifecycle data conversion experience with enterprise systems, including deployment and cutover.
• Experience with data profiling, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and migration audits.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL, mainframe data formats, and non-relational data structures.
• Experience migrating files from Azure Blob Storage, Azure File Share, SharePoint, or Oracle BLOBs.
• Experience with large-scale case management system migrations.
• Previous experience working with government or public-sector organizations.
