Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Software Developer – ETL to support the design, development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of data warehousing, ETL, business intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions.
The role requires strong hands-on experience with Oracle SQL/PL/SQL, Informatica, ETL, data warehousing, business intelligence, Crystal Reports, Power BI, and Business Objects Enterprise (BOE).
The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Employment Ontario is a major program delivered by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. It helps Ontario residents access training, skills development, employment services, and other supports.
The Employment Ontario Information Systems (EOIS) is the primary technology environment supporting these programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, unit test, debug, and maintain data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
- Design, develop, and test Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs and database components.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Informatica mappings and ETL processes.
- Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from OLTP systems into data warehouses and data marts.
- Design and develop reporting and analytics solutions using Crystal Reports, Power BI, and BOE/WebI.
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing reports and reporting solutions.
- Support data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, development, testing, and deployment.
- Analyze and implement enhancements to existing web-based applications and data solutions.
- Perform defect investigation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
- Conduct unit testing and support system and integration testing as required.
- Participate in design reviews, technical walkthroughs, code reviews, and implementation activities.
- Document technical designs, code, data processes, reports, and system changes.
- Work collaboratively with developers, database specialists, BI professionals, business analysts, and subject matter experts.
- Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Communicate progress, issues, risks, and technical findings clearly and on a timely basis to project and management teams.
- Provide post-implementation support and resolve production or technical issues as required.
Mandatory Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
Data Warehousing and BI
- 5+ years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, unit testing, troubleshooting, and defect fixing within data warehousing and business intelligence environments.
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing:
- Crystal Reports
- Power BI reports and dashboards
- Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) reports
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing Informatica ETL solutions.
- Strong knowledge of ETL, data warehouse, data mart, reporting, and business intelligence concepts.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, design, development, and deployment.
- Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and database design concepts.
Software Development
- Experience working with technology solutions and software development methodologies.
- Experience analyzing and designing enhancements to existing web-based software applications.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with application design, development, testing, debugging, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with structured software development methodologies.
- Experience with one or more programming languages and development tools.
Database and Data Integration
- Experience working with relational and/or hierarchical database technologies.
- Experience using query languages and information retrieval technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Experience with database integration and data movement between operational and analytical environments.

- Experience gathering and documenting information from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

- Experience working with middleware, gateways, or related integration technologies is an asset.

- Experience with Java/JEE or other enterprise application technologies.
