Position Overview
Our client is seeking three Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialists to support the Enhancing Home and Community Care (HCC) Digital Connectivity program.
The program is delivering a multi-year strategy to modernize the Home and Community Care digital ecosystem, reduce dependency on the Client Health and Related Information System (CHRIS), and establish the technical foundation for a future-state home care platform.
As part of this transformation, the program is rationalizing existing CHRIS functionality and progressively transitioning from a monolithic architecture toward modular, interoperable services that can integrate with next-generation digital solutions.
The Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialists will provide specialized expertise in quality assurance, test automation, systems integration, and delivery enablement across CHRIS, HPG, and related modernization initiatives.
The successful candidates will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated testing frameworks and regression suites, enabling faster and more reliable validation of new services, integrations, and application enhancements. They will work closely with business, development, DevOps, and delivery teams to improve software quality, reduce manual testing effort, and support the transition to reusable, service-based architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for CHRIS, HPG, and related modernization initiatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated UI and end-to-end testing frameworks and regression suites using Playwright.
- Perform functional, integration, system, end-to-end, regression, smoke, and deployment validation testing.
- Validate application functionality, interfaces, APIs, integrations, and data integrity across multiple interconnected healthcare systems.
- Review and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies and solutions.
- Identify, document, prioritize, track, and validate defects through resolution using Azure DevOps.
- Support release management activities, including deployment validation, release testing, and post-deployment smoke testing.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
- Analyze test results, investigate failures, identify root causes, and work with technical teams to resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain reusable test automation components, frameworks, utilities, and regression assets.
- Provide testing metrics, progress updates, status reporting, test documentation, and risk/issue reporting throughout the engagement.
- Contribute to quality assurance standards, testing best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to support sustainable testing practices within the program.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing test automation solutions.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and end-to-end test automation.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and release support.
- Strong experience across multiple testing disciplines, including functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and regression testing.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, developers, DevOps professionals, and project leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare, public sector, or other regulated environments.
- Previous experience with healthcare information systems, preferably within Ontario's healthcare environment.
- Experience testing complex, highly integrated enterprise applications and services.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automated test execution in cloud environments.
- Experience testing Azure-hosted and cloud-based applications.
- Experience working with APIs, service integrations, and distributed or service-oriented architectures.
- Familiarity with modernization initiatives involving legacy platform decomposition and migration toward modular or service-based architectures.
