Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Site Superintendent to lead natural resource and outdoor recreation construction projects throughout North Carolina and the surrounding region. Work takes place in remote and environmentally sensitive areas and requires strong leadership, organization, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety.

Our projects support public lands, outdoor recreation, and natural resource management. Clients may include organizations and agencies such as North Carolina State Parks, the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Park Service. The Site Superintendent must be able to understand and follow each client’s plans, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable state or federal standards.

The selected candidate will begin with a structured training period to learn Black Diamond Designs’ construction methods, field operations, and project standards. Once trained, the Site Superintendent will independently coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, schedules, and daily jobsite activities to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality projects.

Previous superintendent experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for someone with relevant education or construction experience who wants to learn our work, take ownership, and develop into a capable field leader.

Daily Documentation Maintain accurate daily reports covering labor, equipment usage, production, deliveries, site conditions, and project photographs.
Schedule Management Monitor schedules, identify potential delays, and communicate project needs to the Project Manager.
Client & Partner Coordination Coordinate with clients, inspectors, engineers, property owners, subcontractors, and project partners.
Public Interaction & Jobsite Access Communicate politely and professionally with members of the public while firmly maintaining jobsite boundaries and safety requirements. Prevent unauthorized entry into active work areas and redirect visitors when necessary.
Layout & Project Closeout Assist with layout, field measurements, material tracking, quantity verification, and project closeout.
