General Manager – Consumer Brands & Growth

We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial General Manager to take ownership of a rapidly growing portfolio of consumer brands across e-commerce and retail channels. This is a hands-on commercial leadership role for someone who has built, launched, or scaled a brand, product line, or business and wants significant ownership over its next stage of growth.

The ideal candidate has a founder or operator mindset and is comfortable building from the ground up. You will have responsibility across growth strategy, product development, sourcing, pricing, positioning, merchandising, customer acquisition, retention, inventory, and profitability.

This is not a hands-off management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys executing, experimenting, analyzing results, and building scalable processes while operating with a high degree of autonomy.

What You’ll Do

Build and execute growth strategies across a portfolio of consumer brands and products
Identify and develop new e-commerce, retail, and distribution opportunities
Own product development, sourcing, pricing, positioning, merchandising, conversion, and retention strategies
Manage inventory, working capital, and cash considerations while pursuing profitable growth
Track key performance indicators including net sales, contribution margin, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and working capital
Build financial models and forecasts to evaluate opportunities and guide commercial decisions
Launch new initiatives, products, channels, and growth programs from the ground up
Use customer, sales, and operational data to identify opportunities and improve performance
Work cross-functionally across manufacturing, operations, marketing, product, and other business functions
Lead contractors and eventually build a small, high-performing team as the business scales
Implement systems, processes, and tools that make operations more measurable, efficient, and repeatable
Leverage AI and modern technology to improve productivity, analysis, decision-making, and execution
Take full ownership of initiatives from strategy through implementation and measurable results

What We’re Looking For

Approximately 5–10 years of professional experience
Experience as a General Manager, founder, entrepreneur, or highly autonomous business operator
Demonstrated commercial ownership with measurable results from launching or growing a brand, product line, or business
Experience within consumer brands, e-commerce, startups, or similarly entrepreneurial environments
Strong 0-to-1 experience with the ability to create new initiatives from limited existing infrastructure
Strong quantitative and financial skills, including advanced spreadsheets, forecasting, unit economics, and contribution-margin analysis
Proven ability to operate independently and make decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with senior leadership
Evidence of rapid career progression, increasing responsibility, or meaningful ownership during a company's growth stage
Highly hands-on approach with a willingness to personally execute rather than only delegate
Experience with AI, software, data, automation, or integrations is a strong plus

Ideal Background

Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds. Founder and former founder profiles are particularly attractive, as are individuals who have built consumer or e-commerce businesses, launched new business lines within existing companies, or demonstrated rapid advancement in high-growth organizations. Candidates coming from consulting, investment banking, product, strategy, or operations may also be considered if they can demonstrate strong commercial ownership and entrepreneurial execution.

Location

This is a full-time, in-person position based in the Montréal, Québec area and requires five days per week on-site. Candidates must have Canadian work authorization.
