JOB SUMMARY:
With minimal supervision, the Software Tester II performs tests to detect software anomalies and to record them in specialized software. The Software Tester II reviews analysis documentation for server products and games and creates procedures and test cases according to the specifications outlined in the documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Under minimal supervision from the QA Manager, creates test plans, provides project time estimates, and executes primarily manual and occasionally automated test cases according to the approved test plan;
- Prepares live test environments consisting of slot machines, including flashing and configuring test benches;
- Under minimal supervision from a higher-level Software Tester, performs all levels of testing (except SAS protocol);
- Replicates issues, when necessary, to assist in their resolution;
- Detects, reports and tracks software defects and inconsistencies;
- Creates documentation for software components;
- Provides project status reports to the QA Manager;
- Collaborates closely with other team members and departments;
- Participates in and provides contributions during project post-mortem meetings;
- Troubleshoots moderate to complex issues, primarily brought forth internally;
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant experience;
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in a gaming environment;
- Experience setting up, installing, and connecting electronic hardware;
- Previous experience in a game development environment;
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
- Experience with MS Office Suite, especially with Excel;
- Ability to coach other employees;
- ISTQB certification preferred;
- Bilingualism (French and English) with strong verbal and written communication skills is considered an asset;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Able to work as part of a team or independently;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls;
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus;
- Depending on the position, may be required to travel locally, nationally or internationally.
