Original job description

About Bluebits Technologies

Bluebits Technologies builds smart lockers and digital infrastructure solutions that support smarter, more connected communities. Headquartered in Burnaby, BC, we provide an innovative and collaborative work environment where employees are encouraged to grow professionally, contribute new ideas, and make a meaningful impact.

Our solutions help transform the way people access, store, share, and manage physical assets through intelligent locker technology and connected digital infrastructure. From residential buildings and workplaces to public spaces, educational institutions, recreational facilities, and emerging smart-city applications, we create innovative solutions that improve convenience, security, efficiency, and accessibility.

We believe the future of smart lockers extends far beyond parcel delivery. As organizations continue to digitize operations and improve user experiences, the opportunities to deploy intelligent storage and access solutions are virtually limitless. Bluebits is at the forefront of helping customers unlock those possibilities.

As we continue to expand across Canada, we are seeking an ambitious, results-driven, and customer-focused Account Executive – Business Development to join our Toronto team and help drive our next stage of growth.

About the Role

This is a full-cycle B2B sales role focused on new business development, revenue generation, and account growth. It is not a marketing position.

As an Account Executive – Business Development, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing inbound opportunities through the entire sales process - from initial contact and qualification through discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation, and close.

While Bluebits generates inbound opportunities, a significant part of your success will come from proactively creating your own pipeline through prospecting, outreach, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and other business development activities.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for them. You will identify prospective customers, initiate conversations with decision-makers, uncover business needs, position Bluebits solutions, and consistently move opportunities through the sales pipeline.

You will take ownership of your opportunities throughout the sales cycle, developing a strong understanding of each customer's requirements and working with internal teams to develop solutions that create meaningful value.

Following the sale, you will continue to maintain the commercial relationship with your customers and identify opportunities for future projects, repeat business, and account expansion. Our support and operations teams will assist customers with implementation and ongoing support, allowing you to remain focused on relationship development and future revenue opportunities.

We are looking for someone who combines a strong sales mindset with a customer-centric approach. Successful candidates will be proactive, persistent, organized, comfortable initiating conversations, and motivated by achieving measurable business and revenue results.

Are you comfortable working independently and managing your own pipeline and priorities while collaborating closely with colleagues across operations, product, marketing, support, and leadership?

Bluebits values initiative, results, and continuous improvement. We recognize and reward high performers through a competitive compensation structure that includes commission and performance-based incentives tied to individual and company/team success.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial contact through discovery, proposal, negotiation, and closing
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across real estate, property management, government, education, healthcare, workplace solutions, recreation, and other sectors where intelligent locker and access management solutions can create value
Generate new opportunities through outbound prospecting, cold outreach, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and other business development activities
Respond to, qualify, and develop inbound sales opportunities
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline sufficient to achieve revenue and performance targets
Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer challenges, requirements, priorities, stakeholders, and purchasing processes
Present Bluebits solutions and clearly communicate their business value to prospective customers and decision-makers
Develop proposals and commercial solutions in collaboration with internal teams
Manage follow-up activities and maintain momentum throughout the sales process
Lead commercial discussions and negotiations and convert qualified opportunities into closed business
Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, partners, and stakeholders
Maintain relationships with existing customers to identify repeat business, expansion opportunities, and future projects
Work closely with support and operations teams to ensure an effective transition following the sale while maintaining the commercial relationship with the customer
Collaborate with product, operations, marketing, support, and leadership teams to align customer requirements with Bluebits' capabilities
Monitor customer needs, market developments, and industry activity to identify potential new business opportunities
Represent Bluebits at customer meetings, networking events, conferences, trade shows, and industry initiatives
Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including contacts, activities, opportunity stages, expected close dates, and pipeline values
Provide regular reporting on sales activity, pipeline development, forecasts, closed business, and performance against targets

What We're Looking For

A sales professional who is comfortable owning the entire sales process, rather than focusing solely on lead generation or marketing
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales, revenue, or business development targets
Demonstrated ability to generate new opportunities through proactive prospecting and outbound outreach
Experience managing opportunities from initial conversation through negotiation and close
Strong ability to qualify opportunities, understand customer needs, and communicate business value
Comfortable initiating conversations and developing relationships with decision-makers and senior stakeholders
Strong customer-focused approach with the ability to build trust and develop long-term commercial relationships
Self-motivated, proactive, persistent, and results-oriented
Comfortable balancing outbound prospecting with managing inbound opportunities and an active sales pipeline
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities with disciplined follow-up
Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
Curious, coachable, and motivated to continuously improve sales skills, product knowledge, and industry understanding
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take initiative
Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced and evolving technology company

Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in full-cycle B2B sales, account executive, business development, solution sales, or a comparable revenue-generating role
Demonstrated experience developing opportunities from prospecting through negotiation and closing
Experience managing both self-generated and inbound sales opportunities is considered an asset
Experience with consultative or solution-based selling is strongly preferred
Experience in PropTech, IoT, SaaS, real estate, technology, infrastructure, access control, or other solution-based industries is considered an asset
Experience using CRM systems to manage sales activities, opportunities, pipeline, and forecasting is considered an asset
A bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience is considered an asset
Fluency in English is required
Fluency in French or additional languages is considered an asset

Compensation & Benefits

Expected total annual earnings of $68,000–$95,000, inclusive of base salary, commission, and performance-based incentives. Actual earnings will vary based on individual sales performance and achievement of performance targets.
Additional earning potential for exceptional performance
Stock options

Vision care

Casual, professional work environment
