We're BlueCat - a Great Place to Work for good reason. Our team solves critical network challenges for some of the world's largest organizations. In simple terms, we manage the systems that keep networks running smoothly, securely, and reliably - the backbone infrastructure that powers digital transformation for enterprises globally. Our Intelligent Network Operations platform delivers and enables AI-driven agentic ops at scale, automating and simplifying how companies manage, secure, and optimize their networks.
But what makes us different is how we work: we believe great work happens in an environment where you're trusted, heard, and supported. With teams globally, we're building a workplace culture that values collaboration and integrity as much as innovation. If you're looking to advance your career with a company that invests in its people, this is it.
BlueCat is seeking a VP, Engineering, Network Observability to lead the engineering organization behind LiveAction, BlueCat's Network Observability product line. This leader will own the technical direction, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of a complex, data-intensive platform that gives enterprises, telcos, and government agencies deep, predictive visibility into network health, performance, and behavior - from the data center and campus to the WAN, cloud, and edge.
This is a highly cross-functional leadership role partnering closely with Product Management, Customer Care, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure tight alignment between engineering execution, customer experience, and business outcomes.

- Delivering AI (ML, Generative, Agentic) capabilities for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and predictive insights that reduce mean-time-to-resolution
- Evolving long-lived code bases and developing a pragmatic go-forward plan to retire tech debt
- Building high-performing, geographically distributed engineering teams, including managing work transitions to offshore teams and multiple sites
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing top talent, including managers and senior technical leaders
- Establishing software development standards, processes, and best practices for the entire organization
- Developing strategic plans to accomplish technical and business objectives with Product Management, executive leadership, and your team members
- Engaging directly with enterprise and government strategic accounts to understand technical requirements and resolve escalations

- Experience in delivering high performance hardware/appliances system for network telemetry/packets.
- Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in SaaS or PaaS engineering, as well as on-prem enterprise software delivery
- Strong development experience in Java, C++, or similar OO languages

- Background in AIOps, machine learning for anomaly detection, or predictive analytics applied to network or IT operations
- Experience transitioning a product tech stack toward a more open-source, cloud-portable architecture
- Familiarity with government/public sector requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, StateRAMP, ATO processes)
- Post-acquisition technology integration experience
- Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., sales engineering, professional services, support, product management)
- A mix of smaller-company (<$100M revenue) and larger-company (>$1B revenue) experience
