Java Developer with AI | Montreal, QC Canada | Hybrid

Blutic is seeking Java Developers with AI experience and 5–15 years of professional experience to join our high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, SQL, and AI/Generative AI technologies, with experience integrating AI capabilities into backend applications. This role involves developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications for complex business and financial systems. Experience in the investment banking or financial services domain is highly preferred.

Must-Have Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Java development and building backend applications.
• Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
• Practical experience with AI/ML or Generative AI technologies and integrating AI capabilities into Java applications.
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI APIs, or AI-powered application development.
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing unit and integration tests.
• Understanding of multi-threading, concurrent programming, and performance optimization.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and software architecture principles.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• A completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the investment banking domain or financial services.
• Experience integrating Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-powered services into enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks and libraries such as LangChain, Spring AI, or LangChain4j.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and AI application integration.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol, trading platforms, or risk management systems.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Experience with performance profiling, application monitoring, and optimization tools.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative software development practices.
