Role Description The Intermediate Software Developer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of BluWave-ai’s AI-enabled SaaS platform for grid and energy optimization. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and testing software features, fixing bugs, and improving performance and reliability across distributed systems and cloud-based applications. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, DevOps engineers, and product team members to integrate models, APIs, and services, and to ensure seamless deployment and operation in production environments. The developer participates in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of software development practices, while following secure coding standards and quality guidelines. This role also supports the enhancement of tools and pipelines that enable real-time optimization and scalable solutions for global customers.

- Familiarity with AI/ML integration workflows, data pipelines, and working alongside data scientists to operationalize models (experience with frameworks or MLOps tools is an asset).
- Knowledge of version control and collaboration tools (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines) and modern software development practices such as code review, unit testing, and continuous integration.
- Experience with databases and data storage technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL) relevant to high-throughput, real-time applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, communicate technical concepts clearly, and contribute to documentation and technical discussions.
