Defines and implements the product development, sales, and marketing strategy for an Investment product or product portfolio, with P&L (profit and loss) accountability. Conducts market research, forecasting, pricing, and competitive analysis. Innovates to develop new products and enhancements to existing ones to improve the customer experience. Collaborates with internal partners across the organization to take products to market, and manages all risks associated with products to ensure compliance, including risk reporting.

Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy, product priorities, platform enhancements, pricing approaches, and new initiatives based on an in-depth understanding of the business, market dynamics, client needs, and competitive landscape.
Defines and implements product, investment platform, and managed accounts strategy for an individual product or product portfolio. Drives business case development, roadmap planning, and product lifecycle management by identifying business needs, evaluating options, assessing return on investment, and securing project and budget approval.
Oversees the development of business analytics and insights including portfolio profitability tracking, customer analytics, revenue forecasts, operational metrics, trend analysis, predictive modelling, and financial performance measurement to support strategic decision making.
Conducts complex market research, competitive intelligence, pricing analysis, revenue modelling, and business analysis. Develops frameworks for evaluating business challenges, defining research approaches, and identifying opportunities to improve growth, profitability, advisor experience, and client outcomes.
Leads pricing and fee architecture initiatives, including development of pricing models, relationship and household pricing frameworks, fee administration approaches, fee calculation methodologies, billing engine requirements, and assessment of advisor compensation impacts.
Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders on managed products, investment platforms, advisory programs, relevant regulations, policies, governance requirements, and industry best practices.
Leads large-scale change management initiatives and managed program enhancements, including readiness assessments, business impact analysis, planning, stakeholder management, delivery team coordination, execution, evaluation, and sustainment activities.
Leads the development and execution of communication strategies that support change initiatives, influence behaviours, drive adoption, and ensure alignment across stakeholder groups. Collaborates across BMO to ensure consistency of messaging and successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
Leads operational process design and continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency, standardizing and optimizing workflows, reducing manual processes, enhancing advisor and client experiences, improving service models, and addressing onboarding and processing challenges through root-cause analysis.
Identifies existing and emerging risks and develops governance frameworks, policy and control structures, risk management processes, and monitoring practices to ensure products, platforms, and business practices are appropriately governed and withstand scrutiny from Risk and Compliance stakeholders.
Develops and maintains directives, policies, standards, and supporting documentation for products, platforms, and advisory programs. Conducts risk/reward analyses and supports governance activities associated with strategic initiatives and product enhancements.
Optimizes the financial performance, scalability, and client value of the product portfolio while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance business effectiveness and the customer experience.
Works closely with internal stakeholders to develop materials, training, implementation plans, and adoption strategies for new products, platforms, and program enhancements. May support the sales team with client presentations, strategic opportunities, and development of client-specific solutions.
Develops and maintains relationships with internal partners, external vendors, and industry participants to identify emerging trends, competitive insights, and opportunities for innovation.
Facilitates discussions across diverse stakeholder groups, aligns priorities, obtains buy-in, negotiates competing interests, and influences decision making to advance strategic business objectives.
Applies expertise, sound judgment, and creative problem-solving to address unique, complex, and often ambiguous business challenges.
Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in accordance with approved risk appetite, policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completion of relevant investment certifications or designations (e.g., CIM, CFA, MBA, or comparable industry credential).
Experience owning investment products, managed account programs, advisory platforms, investment platforms, or portfolio solutions.
Proven ability to define product strategy, develop business cases, and execute strategic roadmaps.
Strong understanding of managed accounts, SMA programs, investment products, advisory platforms, fee-based wealth programs, and unified wealth platforms.
Experience leading complex business, operational, and technology transformation initiatives.
Experience balancing advisor, client, operational, regulatory, and business requirements when designing solutions and implementing change.
Knowledge of pricing and fee architecture, including pricing frameworks, fee administration processes, fee calculation methodologies, advisor compensation models, and revenue modelling.
Experience with wealth technology platforms and translating business requirements into scalable platform capabilities and solutions.
Knowledge of Canadian wealth management regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, risk management practices, and policy development.
Strong analytical, financial modelling, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to align priorities and obtain buy-in across diverse stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and navigate complex business challenges.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Copilot, and emerging AI-enabled productivity tools.
