Leads Personal Banking performance, client growth, employee engagement, and market presence across a defined geographic region. Accountable for delivering sustainable business results through exceptional client experiences, disciplined risk management, strong sales execution, and the development of high-performing branch leaders and teams. Ensures alignment with enterprise strategy while strengthening BMO's brand and community presence within the region.

Leads execution of Personal Banking strategy across the region, delivering sustainable growth, profitability, client acquisition, and market share expansion.
Translates enterprise priorities into regional business plans and ensures disciplined execution against client, sales, financial, and workforce objectives.
Serves as the senior Personal Banking leader within the region, building strong market presence, community relationships, and strategic partnerships that enhance business performance.
Monitors market dynamics, client trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and adjust strategies to optimize results.
Leads a high-performing sales and service organization focused on deepening client relationships and delivering differentiated client experiences.
Drives consistent sales execution, client acquisition, and referral generation across the regional distribution network.
Maintains strategic relationships with key clients, prospects, and community stakeholders to support business growth and client loyalty.
Partners across Personal Banking, Business Banking, Wealth Management, and other business groups to deliver integrated client solutions and maximize enterprise value.
Leads branch performance by establishing clear expectations, monitoring results, and optimizing sales, service, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Develops branch leadership capability through coaching, performance management, and targeted development activities that improve business outcomes.
Shares and scales best practices to drive consistency and continuous improvement across the network.
Maintains effective oversight of operational, compliance, client, and credit risk within the region and takes proactive action to address emerging issues.
Accountable for regional financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, productivity, and expense management.
Allocates resources effectively to support strategic priorities and achieve sustainable business results.
Monitors performance against plan and implements corrective actions to address gaps and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Champions a One Bank approach by fostering collaboration across business groups and functional partners to improve client and business outcomes.
Leads strategic change initiatives and transformation efforts that strengthen organizational capability and position the region for future growth.
Makes credit decisions/recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles, policies, and procedures
Within the mandate of this role, promotes and supports the Bank’s risk culture including ensuring employees understand their accountabilities for risk-taking activities, promoting an environment of open communication and effective challenge, and establishing the “tone from the top” through leading by example.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience within financial services, including management of large retail banking, sales, or distribution organizations.
Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed teams and delivering sustainable growth, client, and financial outcomes.
Strong knowledge of personal banking products, branch operations, sales management practices, and client experience strategies.
Strong understanding of risk management, regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, and operational controls within a federally regulated financial institution.
Credit qualified and/or eligible to obtain required lending authorities.
Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or equivalent knowledge preferred.
Proven ability to lead change, develop talent, and build high-performing teams.
Strong strategic thinking, business planning, and financial management capabilities.
Exceptional communication, relationship management, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and drive business performance.
Ability to be credit qualified at the appropriate level

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
