Position Summary

Provides administrative, client-service, and operational support to Estate and Insurance Advisors (EIAs), their clients, and business partners. The role helps grow the insurance business by delivering a high-quality client experience, coordinating sales and service activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that all work complies with established processes, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Client Service and Business Development

Support the ongoing development of the EIA’s book of business.
Understand client needs and explain relevant services, products, and solutions clearly and appropriately.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners through internal referrals and external marketing initiatives.
Deliver an exceptional client experience that supports sales activity, referrals, and client retention.
Resolve client service issues within established guidelines and escalate matters when required.
Proactively follow up on prospecting opportunities and manage insurance cases already in progress.

Advisor and Operational Support

Prepare files and supporting materials in advance of advisor and client meetings.
Manage calendars and coordinate priorities, appointments, and meeting requests from advisors.
Ensure weekly and monthly team reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Coordinate with internal business groups to execute client requests and resolve issues.
Organize information and records to maintain accuracy and completeness.
Complete complex and varied tasks within established guidelines, including handling escalations when required.

Business Analysis and Communication

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Analyze data and information to generate insights and recommendations.
Monitor sales and service performance against plans to identify gaps, issues, and best practices.
Draft, edit, and distribute clear, audience-appropriate communications.
Assess issues, determine appropriate next steps, and follow through to resolution.

Risk and Compliance

Apply the Bank’s Risk Management Framework and Risk Culture in all aspects of the role.
Make sound, risk-informed decisions that align with business strategy, protect assets, and remain within the approved Risk Appetite.
Adhere to applicable frameworks, policies, standards, procedures, supporting documents, laws, and regulations.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

Post-secondary degree in a related field of study.
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in individual life insurance.
Life insurance licence required.
Quebec life insurance licensing is preferred. If the successful candidate is not currently licensed in Quebec, obtaining the appropriate licence will be a condition of employment. BMO currently provides support for the Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP).

Technical Knowledge

Advanced knowledge of life insurance and investment products, processes, and procedures.
Strong knowledge of individual insurance products, including Universal Life, Whole Life, Term Life, Critical Illness, and Disability Insurance.
Knowledge of group insurance products, trust and estate services, and financial and retirement planning.
Knowledge of proprietary and industry compliance requirements.
Ability to read and interpret financial plans and identify potential insurance opportunities.
Knowledge of Eqisoft/Centralize is an asset.

Core Capabilities

Strong relationship-management skills, particularly when working with investment advisors and discussing insurance strategies and opportunities.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, and deliver consistently high-quality work.

You’re fluent in French and English as this role provides support to clients and team members inside and/or outside the province of Quebec.

Salary:

$38,000.00 - $72,000.00

Salaried & Commission

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
