Senior Manager, Proprietary Cards (Canada)

The Senior Manager, Proprietary Cards will support the Director of Proprietary Cards to drive substantial growth to BMO’s proprietary Mastercard credit card product portfolios. They will be actively involved in developing the product strategy and ensuring the effective day-to-day management for several credit card products to enhance customer experience, drive increased acquisition and customer engagement, as well as optimize product profitability.

You will work across cross-functional teams to strategically oversee many aspects of the customer lifecycle from acquisition, engagement, and retention, as well as own the execution of strategic projects for the bank including launching new products and programs.

The ideal candidate has strong experience developing and executing on strategic product roadmaps, developing financial business cases, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to drive results. They will enjoy acting like a business owner and learning how to successfully manage products and loyalty within a large financial institution.

Key Accountabilities:

Product strategy and development

Create strategic product roadmaps that align with the overall Prop card’s strategy.
Support annual investment planning and resource allocation.
Leverage data and analytics to identify strategic opportunities to optimize the product P&L.
Develop detailed financial business cases to support strategic opportunities such as changes to products and features, new product development, loyalty enhancements, etc.

Support new product development opportunities from concept ideation, business case development, and execution.
Present opportunities to senior leadership.
Partner with the Visa network to drive growth to the eclipse portfolio

Day-to-Day Product management

Champion proprietary cards products with core business stakeholders to drive results
Act as the business lead on several strategic projects for the bank.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer experience, marketing, and sales creative, streamline processes, etc.
Own quarterly forecasting activities for all prop products.

Project execution

Act as business lead on executing strategic projects for the bank.
Collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure a successful launch.
Keep leadership updated on overall project status and mitigation of key risks.
Effectively manage the project budget.

Identify opportunities to improve collaboration with external vendor and enhance customer experience and NPS.

Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong experience with consumer / commercial credit applicable to retail and business financing products.
Strong experience working with retail and business product fundamentals, including product design, functionality, and related policies and procedures
Strong knowledge of product delivery infrastructure systems and underlying product interdependencies.
In-depth retail and business banking environmental awareness / understanding.
In-depth risk management associated with new and existing product development and management.
Strong knowledge of process coordination and management.
Strong knowledge of banking product management and associated industry and regulatory requirements.

Salary:

$85,500.00 - $185,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
