Start With What Energises You.

Everything starts with passion at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It turns a profession into a vocation. It drives us to keep reinventing mobility and to bring innovative ideas onto the roads. Our teams work as a strong unit where every opinion is valued. We have set future-focused goals within a practical and long-term framework - all with the intention to enact positive change and continue our pursuit of proactive responsibility. Plus, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly, supportive environment and management style, having some great benefits for our employees, career development, progression and work-life balance.

We’re committed to providing an environment where you can be yourself and be your best. This includes welcoming you into an inclusive culture, investing in your continuous learning and development, giving you access to breadth and depth of experience. We want to provide you with challenging and rewarding opportunities to make a difference, offering flexible working options and giving ample reward and recognition.

We believe in creating an environment where our placement students really can learn and develop during their time with us and where they are given their own areas of responsibility from the start. Our experts and mentors will treat you as part of the team from day one, encouraging you to bring your own ideas to the table and giving you the opportunity to really show what you can do.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is part of the BMW Group and its Goodwood manufacturing plant sits in the heart of the West Sussex countryside.

As the epitome of exclusive super luxury, a Rolls-Royce delivers unmatched quality, style and performance. Behind the legendary brand is a team of passionate and highly talented people who do their utmost to satisfy the wishes of clients who commission a Rolls-Royce.

The maxim of Sir Henry Royce, ‘take the best that exists and make it better’, permeates in everything we do at Rolls-Royce. As a student, you will have hands-on experience from day one, while gaining practical insights into the corporate operations of a world-class automotive manufacturer. Each year we offer internship opportunities and are keen to hear from you if you are currently studying an undergraduate degree and looking to complete a 12.5-month placement.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood - Powertrain, Chassis and Electronics, Validation and Integration – Placement Year (July 2027)

We are responsible for the integration, validation and analysis of electrical, electronic, powertrain and chassis technical content as well as the planning and realisation of the complete production testing and commissioning process. We work hands-on with prototype and series products featuring the latest industry technology including E-drive and autonomous driver systems. Our team is seeking two placement students to join from July 2027.

What awaits you?

Support, coordination and management of specific daily tasks.
Learning automotive diagnostics and electronic systems working directly on prototype vehicles.
Support complex technical analysis.
Monitoring, understanding and reporting production test system result data to facilitate continuous improvement.
Develop and deliver a personal project with direct relevance to product/process improvement.

What should you bring along?

Studying a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a relevant Engineering course.
PC literate with the ability to learn new systems and applications.
Strong problem solving ability.
Knowledge of Industry 4.0.
Automotive experience is useful but not essential.

What can you look forward to?

Great Pay – A competitive annual salary, 27 days holiday per annum (pro rata to your contract) and an attractive pension scheme.
Exciting Additional Benefits – You will have the opportunity to enjoy other employee benefits, a subsidised on-site restaurant and access to our Advantages scheme which gives you a range of offers and discounts.

What do you need to do now?

If you apply, the next stages of the recruiting process include a virtual assessment centre and an in-person interview with the hiring manager.

Please note:

To be eligible for this position, you must be returning to your studies, for a minimum of 6 months, after completion of this placement. You must be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK. We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment and job applicants will receive equal treatment regardless of disability, age, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, gender, sex or sexual orientation. At the BMW Group, we place great importance on equal treatment and equal opportunities. Our recruiting decisions are based on the personality, experience, and skills of the applicants.
