Original job description

About Us

Our approach today is the same as it was 35 years ago: quality, commitment and integrity creates projects and partnerships that last decades. This was the mindset of our founders who started our company all those years ago, and it continues to drive how we work decades later.

From humble builder to forward-thinking construction partner, we’vealways been focused on moving our legacy forward through hands-on mentorship and, more recently, our Bosa Construction Legacy Scholarship to support future leaders in the trades.

Today, Bosa Construction collaborates with owners, consultants, and trades to construct residential, commercial, and institutional developments throughout the Lower Mainland, always with safety top of mind and backed by our COR safety certification. Some of our notable projects include Tesoro, North Harbour, Emerson, Axis – and many more to come.

About The Role

Bosa Construction is hiring an estimator to drive our formwork division forward with detailed, precise and timely estimates. We are focused on building and maintaining longstanding relationships within the Lower Mainland construction industry and that all stems from how we bid and price our jobs. You will partner closely with Bosa Construction leadership, Project Managers and our current and future trade partners.

Prepare and analyze labour needs and breakdowns to assist with budgets and planning;
Review designs to identify areas of improvement and opportunity for cost efficiencies;
Complete project scope of work reviews to ensure completeness of estimates, and all technical specifications, subcontractor scopes, and general condition items have been quantified and costed;
Build strong relationships and long-term partnership opportunities with our trades and suppliers;
Conceptual estimating from preliminary drawings through final cost analysis;
Track estimated versus actual costs over the life of the project.

Skills & Experience

At least three solid years of experience working on complex projects concrete and formwork projects from beginning to end;
High level of attention to detail to drive accuracy and consistency throughout your work;
Experience and comfortable working with on-screen takeoff tools and Excel;
Able to balance multiple deliverables at different phases of completion and complexity;
Knowledge of trade practices, market conditions, and building materials;
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, and/or PQS;
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of employees and owners, architects, and subtrades.

YOUR REWARDS

We’re committed to the success and development of our people and recognize that they are the drivers behind our success. We provide our teams with the tools and support they need to strive, thrive, and advance their long-term career here.

The base salary range for this role is between $90,000 to $115,000, depending on experience, plus a competitive bonus program. During the interview process, let’s talk to get the right fit for your experience level.
