Original job description

BPA is more than an engineering firm - it’s a passionate team shaping the buildings and infrastructure of tomorrow. With offices across Canada, our expertise in sustainable design and technical innovation drives impactful projects from coast to coast. Joining BPA means putting your talent to work on meaningful projects, collaborating with recognized experts, and growing in a flexible, people-focused and forward-thinking environment.

The opportunity

At BPA, we value hands-on experience and professionals who understand how construction really works on site. As a Construction Administrator with a background in mechanical or electrical systems and strong project management skills, you will play a key role in coordinating and monitoring construction activities, collaborating closely with engineers, contractors, and trades, and helping ensure that the work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements. Acting as a critical liaison between project teams, you will support project planning, execution, and communication, contributing directly to the successful delivery of projects throughout the Ottawa region.

Your daily impact

Ensure the execution of medium- to large-scale work and compliance with drawings and specifications.
Conduct site visits, prepare site report and site instructions for contractors, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Follow up with the contractor on drawing markups for the preparation of as-built drawings.
Monitor schedules and attend site meetings.
Verify work progress against drawings and specifications.
Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and provide expertise in the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
Analyze and negotiate change order pricing with contractors.

Your profile

Completion of a technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with knowledge of applicable Ontario codes and standards.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, and access to a vehicle.
Excellent communications skills in French & English, verbal and written. *
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Versatility, autonomy and proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong skills in report writing and experience working in multidisciplinary teams
High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
Curiosity and initiative.
Collaboration and team spirit.
English is essential due to participation in commercial projects outside Quebec and in national projects where all meetings and documentation are exclusively in English.

Build your career with us and enjoy…

A culture built on collaboration, knowledge sharing, talent development, and the quality of our work.
A 37.5-hour workweek with flexible scheduling and the possibility of finishing at noon on Fridays.
A hybrid work policy that promotes balance between professional and personal life.
Overtime hours that are recognized and compensated, either through time off in lieu or paid compensation.
A competitive total compensation package, including a market-driven salary, a comprehensive group insurance plan, and an RRSP program with employer contributions.
A structured training and professional development program supported by UniversiT, our internal entity dedicated to the technical and personal growth of every employee.
A structured Mentorship Program that connects early-career professionals with experienced mentors to kick-start your BPA career.
Cutting-edge technology, including BIM and modern collaborative tools.
The “Finding Balance” program, which promotes overall well-being, mental health, and sustainable productivity.

We are committed to the principles of employment equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility across all our offices in Canada. We encourage applications from women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in any stage of the selection process.

Thank you for your interest in joining our team. Please note that only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted by the Talent team.
