BPA is expanding, and our new Vancouver office offers a unique opportunity to combine the energy and influence of a startup environment with the strength, resources, technical expertise, and reputation of an established, Canada-wide engineering firm. With 5+ years of relevant experience in building mechanical engineering, you will play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of institutional projects while contributing to the growth of our local team and culture.
In this role, you will lead and support mechanical building systems design, collaborate with teams across the country, mentor younger resources and contribute your technical knowledge throughout all project phases. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful responsibilities, collaborate directly with senior leadership, and help shape project delivery standards and practices as the Vancouver office grows.

Your daily impact
- Technical supervision, coordination, verification and design of various mechanical building systems projects from concept design to completion of construction.
- Work as part of a team to carry out building-related mechanical systems design projects for various sectors (institutional, office, commercial, cultural and residential).
- Connect with clients to understand their needs.
- Survey existing installations.
- Analyze, design and adapt building-related installations.
- Prepare various types of client reports.
- Manage the project and the relationships with the client.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (specializing in building) or building engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
- Member in good standing of EGBC (Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP heat loads calculations software.
- Capability to write reports, complete site visits, and design mechanical and plumbing systems with minimum supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Annual salary range: $83,000 - $110,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of the role, and geographic location.
