Original job description
Bradford Jacobs has partnered with a newly independent technology and industrial group headquartered in Toronto.
The group is developing and commercialising innovative products across technology and robotics, alongside strategic investments within the technology sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team at an early stage and play a central role in building the organisation through its first phase of growth.
We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Copywriter to create technical, marketing, digital, and corporate content across our battery and robotics product lines.
Working within a small, fast-paced team, you will translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling content for B2B audiences. You will collaborate with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and investor relations (IR) stakeholders to support brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales enablement.
The role also includes preparing first drafts of press releases and shareholder communications under IR direction, subject to legal and IR review.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop product copy, technical documentation, specification sheets, white papers, case studies, and technical information papers for the battery and robotics product lines.
- Write and edit website content, marketing campaigns, email communications, newsletters, and sales enablement materials.
- Translate complex technical and engineering information into clear, accurate, and engaging content for relevant audiences.
- Prepare first drafts of press releases and shareholder communications under IR direction, incorporating feedback through established legal and compliance review processes.
- Conduct research and interviews with subject matter experts to support technical content and industry thought leadership.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, tone, terminology, and messaging across all published materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop content aligned with business and marketing objectives.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, incorporating feedback and revisions while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Apply SEO and content optimisation best practices to improve clarity, usability, discoverability, and engagement.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in copywriting, technical writing, B2B content writing, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across technical, long-form, short-form, and marketing content.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical subject matter clearly and accurately.
- Experience writing for technical, industrial, technology, or B2B audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Comfort working through stakeholder feedback, multiple review cycles, and compliance-related edits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technology, engineering, battery systems, robotics, manufacturing, or other industrial sectors.
- Experience developing sales enablement materials and thought leadership content.
- Familiarity with SEO, content marketing, and content performance metrics.
- Exposure to corporate communications or investor relations review processes.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Strong technical communication and storytelling abilities.
- Adaptability across technical, marketing, and corporate writing formats.
- Efficiency without compromising accuracy or quality.
- Collaborative approach and sound professional judgement.
- Ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced team.
Compensation
- Base salary: CAD $52,000 – $65,000
- No cash bonus; stock option grant
