Original job description

About BrainRidge: BrainRidge Consulting is a premium FinTech Technology Consulting firm with the energy of a startup and experience of an enterprise. With a mission to empower financial institutions and organizations to thrive in the digital age, we provide cutting-edge technology solutions and strategic guidance to drive innovation and growth. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and experienced TypeScript/Node.js Developer.

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and hands-on TypeScript Node.js Developer to design, build, and support cloud-native backend services for our financial services clients. You will own the development of secure, scalable APIs and microservices running in the cloud, working closely with architects, front-end developers, QA, and DevOps engineers. Your work will help our clients modernize their platforms and deliver reliable digital experiences to their customers.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful or GraphQL APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
Build cloud-native and serverless solutions on AWS, using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, and SQS/SNS.
Develop event-driven and microservice architectures that are secure, resilient, and scalable.
Write clean, well-tested code with strong unit and integration test coverage using tools such as Jest.
Contribute to infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
Integrate with internal systems, third-party services, and relational and NoSQL databases.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune application performance in production cloud environments.
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile ceremonies with client and BrainRidge teams.
Apply security and compliance best practices suited to regulated financial services environments.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years building backend services in Node.js and TypeScript.
Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and TypeScript, asynchronous programming, and API design.
Hands-on experience building and deploying applications on AWS (Azure or GCP experience is an asset).
Experience with serverless, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes or ECS), and microservice-based architectures.
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation) and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Experience in banking, insurance, or financial services is considered a strong asset.
Clear communicator who can work with both technical and business stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Our Commitment At BrainRidge Consulting, we value and prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace leads to a more innovative and productive team. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to providing a safe, fair, and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and respected. If you require accommodations during the hiring process, please let us know.
