The Opportunity:

The Aquatics Lead, Auxiliary Programs is responsible for coordinating and supporting all aquatics-based programming for Branksome Hall’s Auxiliary Programs which take place on weekends and evenings. This includes being a key contributor to the ongoing development and coordination of our auxiliary swim programs and summer camp aquatics programs. The successful candidate will lead hiring, staffing, schedule, and all coordination related to program registration, communication and on-site programming.

This role requires flexibility in hours to align with the needs of auxiliary programs. This will regularly work weekends, along with any support within and outside of the regular school day as needed. The working hours and schedule for summer camps, which run from late June through August, are from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional aftercare support until 6:00 pm, with flexibility based on the camp's aquatics programming.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Ideate and design proposals for auxiliary programs, and drive the marketing programs to maximize enrollment.
Assist in overseeing our weekend Swim Program, first aid certification programs, training programs, and all other auxiliary programs, to maximize utilization and revenue generation opportunities.
Collaborate with Camps in the development of camp programming, scheduling, and staffing.
Lead the hiring process, supervision of, and schedule of swim instructors and lifeguards.
Registers participants for auxiliary programs and manages all communication, information shared, and registration documentation (includes payments) with registrants, students, and parents.
Collaborate with the Aquatics and Athletic teams to coordinate curricular/co-curricular weekday pool hours with auxiliary program hours, and provide deck support for day programming as required.
Point of contact for all Lifesaving Society’s programming, including purchasing, ordering, test sheet submissions, and attending the Society’s meetings.
Oversee the purchase and care of pool equipment, materials and supplies.
Update the pool manual, pool regulations, pool signage and the pool office to industry, provincial and local standards and policies are enforced.
Liaise weekly with Housekeeping and Facilities in order to ensure proper care and cleaning of the pool deck and pool features in order to adhere to all safety regulations.

Candidate Profile:

Related post-secondary training or 3+ years of relevant experience, including experience in a coordinating role
The following certificates are required to be up-to-date:
- National Lifeguard certificate
- Standard First Aid (AED & CPR-C certificate)
- Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving certificate
Additional Lifesaving Society Examiner and advanced leadership certifications are an asset
Experience working with youth and ability to build rapport with various stakeholders
Experience with developing and planning a variety of swim programming (Toddler, Preschool, Swimmer, Adult lessons, etc.)
Experience developing revenue generating programs and marketing is an asset.
Experience with registration system software (eg: Pike 13, Jack Rabbit, CampBrain, PerfectMind, iClassPro)
Working knowledge of pool filtration systems, implications of the Ontario Pool Regulations 565 and OCA Standards
Strong organizational skills and effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders;
Strong team player and able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
