Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Medical Cardiology, the successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care in the Medical Cardiology program and must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited college nursing program
Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Must be able to function within your full scope of practice as a RPN
Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
Criminal Record Check required

Preferred Qualifications

Current two (2) years experience in a Cardiology unit
Member of RPNAO
Ability to be a coach, teacher and mentor to colleagues and students
Demonstrated competence in patient assessment and care planning
Cardiac Arrhythmia course
Current Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)

Provide comprehensive nursing care within the Medical Cardiology program. Work independently and collaboratively with the inter-professional team to support patient care.

Requirements

Applicants must graduate from an accredited college nursing program, be registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold current BCLS certification, and be able to practise within the full scope of an RPN. Preferred qualifications include two years of cardiology experience, a cardiac arrhythmia course, ACLS, and demonstrated patient assessment, care planning, communication, and mentoring abilities.
