Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging you will be responsible for performing Diagnostic Ultrasound procedures in accordance with the policies and procedures and College guidelines and Standard of Practice.

The Ultrasound Department is a high-volume department. We are seeking a technologist who can work independently as well as be an intricate part of our team.

Mandatory Qualifications

Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) – Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) required
Demonstrated technical competence and a commitment to quality patient care
Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization
Criminal Record Check required
Current registration with Sonography Canada preferred.

Demonstrated educational and professional involvement as well as a commitment to professional development
Excellent attendance record
Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions.
Reliable individual with excellent attendance record and able to work all shifts
Experience in a fast-paced Diagnostic Imaging Department preferred
Current B.C.L.S. Certificate preferred

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures, College guidelines, and standards of practice. Work independently and collaboratively as part of a high-volume ultrasound department while supporting quality patient care and workplace safety.

Requirements

Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is required, along with technical competence and strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills. Sonography Canada registration and a current B.C.L.S. certificate are preferred; experience in a fast-paced Diagnostic Imaging Department is also preferred.
