The work calls for technical depth, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to supporting products throughout their lifecycle.
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will help support product solutions from inception through production, contributing to both new development and the refinement of existing products and processes. You will work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and other cross-functional partners to help ensure product designs are manufacturable, efficient, and aligned with engineering, industry, and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Support the manufacturing cycle for office furniture products from inception through production.
- Process standard, special, repeat, and custom orders; verify order details and quantities against acknowledgements and purchase orders; and prepare drawings for customer sign-off and Project Matrix support.
- Create custom hardware and installation drawings, CNC programs, and Excel and Smartsheet templates.
- Manage material optimization, refine product designs and manufacturing processes, and identify continuous-improvement opportunities that increase efficiency and performance.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and cross-disciplinary teams to resolve product issues and transition new products into regular production.
- Develop virtual models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and related software; support prototype and pre-production fabrication; interpret testing requirements and conduct preliminary compliance testing, including BIFMA standards.
- Produce technical documentation such as assembly and part drawings, manuals, and specification sheets.
- Develop improved processes and tools while remaining current on industry trends, materials, technologies, engineering practices, environmental issues, and sustainable design principles.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, manufacturing environment, or manufacturing processes.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with 2020 SolidWorks, including strong 3D modelling and detailed design skills.
- Good project and time management skills, with experience handling multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience with custom manufacturing work.
- Experience creating, reading, and interpreting complex drawings.
- Experience working with internal teams such as Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
- Experience with customer-facing coordination, including reviewing order details, sign-off drawings, and project support.
- Experience with Inventor or other modelling software is a plus.
- Experience with CNC programming, including knowledge of multiple CNC formats, is preferred.
- Experience in office furniture manufacturing or closely related areas such as millwork, cabinetry, fixtures, or other custom product manufacturing is an asset.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Able to occasionally lift moderately heavy objects and use hand tools for prototyping or building.
- Available to work overtime as required.
- Inspiring team committed to a diverse, inclusive, and safe workspace.
- Opportunities for growth and advancement
- Various social and recreational activities
