The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, development, implementation, and completion of assigned construction projects, with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and client requirements. The role works closely with project teams, clients, partners, and subcontractors to deliver projects in accordance with contractual requirements. This position supports Alberici’s North American operations and requires the ability to travel and work on assignments in both Canada and the United States. Experience in semiconductors, EV battery manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, nuclear, marine, or comparable complex industrial projects is strongly preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, development, implementation, and completion of assigned construction projects, with accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and client requirements. The role works closely with project teams, clients, partners, and subcontractors to deliver projects in accordance with contractual requirements. This position supports Alberici’s North American operations and requires the ability to travel and work on assignments in both Canada and the United States. The Project Manager may be assigned additional duties and responsibilities based on project size, complexity, and team structure.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret relevant occupational health and safety legislation, company policy and procedures.
Be the visible project safety champion and ensure safety violations and accidents are documented, administered, reported, and investigated in accordance with company policies
Ensures Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s) are adhered to and established
Conducts daily inspections of the project to ensure work is being done appropriately
Reviews project start-up checklist and implements functions
Reviews construction strategy and approach with estimators and Business Development personnel during the bidding and proposal process
Manages risk exposures on the project
Conducts daily meetings with the Project Coordinator(s), Superintendent, Safety, and additional site staff to ensure coordination of the project
Conducts and takes minutes of regular meetings with subcontractors to coordinate activities, review progress, and address issues
Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with subcontractors
Maintains a high level of client confidence and satisfaction through the following:
Ensures the project is constructed and delivered as contracted
Ensures systems and equipment function properly at the conclusion of the project
Ensures the construction experience is positive from the perspective of the client and employees of the client who may be on the site
Keeps the client apprised of developments in the project, including any change orders that may be needed, changes in timelines, etc.
Maintains high accessibility to clients, partners, and client representatives through regular meetings, calls, and correspondence; communicates effectively in Korean and English where required and promptly responds to questions and concerns.

Management Responsibilities

Manages and directs Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Estimators, and non-supervisory administrative employees
Establishes and maintains positive, effective working relationships within internal and external contacts.
Determines course of action to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Completes performance communications and establishes clear expectations of performance for direct reports.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Reads, analyzes, edits, and interprets information so that it is presented to clients and other stakeholders in a professional and partnership mindset.
Responds effectively to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Effectively presents information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Utilizes Microsoft Office-based applications and project management software systems appropriate for this role (e.g., Procore, P6 Primavera, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Touchplan)
Develops proficiency with estimating software relevant to their division (InEight, PlanSwift, AGTEK, etc.)

Qualifications & Experience

Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field plus 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in construction project management with exposure to projects of major scope.
Candidates with 5-10 years of relevant construction experience gained in Korea, preferably with a leading Korean construction company, followed by continued construction or project management experience in Canada or North America.
Experience working across both Korean and North American construction environments is strongly preferred.
Experience in semiconductors, EV battery manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, nuclear, marine, or comparable complex industrial projects is strongly preferred.
Full professional fluency in both Korean and English is required to support communication with Korean-speaking clients, partners, stakeholders, and project teams.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to meet applicable requirements for business travel and/or project assignments in the United States.
Ability and willingness to travel between Canada and the United States, and to project locations as required, is essential.
Advanced skills in MS Office products - Excel, Word and Outlook - are required; Primavera and Prolog software are assets.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Professional registration, P.Eng. and/or Gold Seal Certification in Project Management is an asset.
