Original job description

Why join us

Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster in more than 200 markets. By combining global corporate cards and banking with intuitive spend management, bill pay, and travel software, Brex enables founders and finance teams to accelerate operations, gain real-time visibility, and control spend effortlessly. Brex’s AI-native automation and world-class service eliminate manual expense and accounting tasks for customers so they can focus on what matters most. Tens of thousands of the world's best companies run on Brex, including DoorDash, Coinbase, Robinhood, Zoom, Plaid, Reddit, and SeatGeek.

Working at Brex allows you to push your limits, challenge the status quo, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We’re committed to building a diverse team and inclusive culture and believe your potential should only be limited by how big you can dream. We make this a reality by empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to grow your career.

Recruiting at Brex

Recruiting is where every career at Brex begins. We are the first point of connection for future builders and leaders, helping candidates see what is possible. We partner with leaders across the company to find exceptional talent and build high-performing teams. We move quickly, think strategically, and take pride in a thoughtful, welcoming candidate experience from the first contact. We shape the culture at Brex by hiring the designers who define how our products look, feel and function.

What you'll do

This role is responsible for partnering with hiring managers and design leadership to define team needs and role requirements, ensuring alignment on hiring goals across Product Design, Brand Design, and Design Leadership.

You’ll source, engage, and assess world-class design talent through diverse channels, while managing the full recruitment lifecycle from outreach to onboarding. You will develop strategies to attract and retain diverse design talent, proactively building pipelines for both immediate and long-term hiring needs.

You’ll track and analyze key hiring metrics to improve recruiting effectiveness, collaborate cross-functionally to ensure fair and consistent evaluation practices, and champion Brex’s employer brand within the design community. This includes representing Brex at design events, portfolio reviews, and on relevant social platforms

Where you'll work

This role will be based in our Vancouver office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.

Responsibilities

Lead sourcing and outreach for design roles, using recruiting platforms, creative communities, portfolio sites and social networks.
Recruit across Product Design, Brand/Visual Design and Design Leadership.
Screen and evaluate portfolios, craft quality, systems thinking and collaboration skills.
Partner with design leaders to calibrate on craft standards, hiring bar and team composition.
Coordinate and facilitate interview processes, including portfolio reviews and design exercises, with a high-quality candidate experience.
Give hiring managers and stakeholders regular updates on pipeline health and progress.
Keep candidate data accurate in recruiting systems and dashboards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of recruiting processes, inclusive hiring and candidate experience.
Help shape and promote Brex's design employer brand.

Requirements

Proven experience recruiting for design roles (Product Design and Brand Design) in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong sourcing skills and familiarity with AI tools, recruiting platforms and creative talent networks.
Ability to assess design portfolios and understand craft, systems thinking and user-centered methods.
Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management.
Data-driven mindset: interprets recruiting metrics and drives process improvements.
Manages multiple searches and priorities at once.

Bonus points

Experience recruiting design leaders or building design teams from the ground up.
Familiarity with compensation strategy and market analysis for design roles.
Employer branding or talent marketing experience focused on the design community.
Hiring across multiple geographies (US, Canada, LATAM).

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is CA$112,000–$140,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
