WAGE RATE: $38.80 – $52.91
Reporting to the Director, Facilities Management, the Engineering Technologist provides technical development and support for the operation, maintenance and improvement of complex building systems and hospital equipment utilizing a variety of computer-based control and asset management systems for all sites at Brightshores Health System. The Engineering Technologist also researches and applies a wide range of standards, codes and regulations to policy and procedure development, energy management and building performance.
Required
Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:
- 3 or 4 year degree or diploma in engineering, building or computer science or related field
- 5 years’ recent experience in utilizing computer systems and applications to support complex building system maintenance and operations.
- Ability to research and develop policy and procedures from a wide range of standards, regulations, building and fire codes, technical literature and manufacturers data.
- Demonstrated systems development experience, process engineering and quality control.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in data base, spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability and willingness to continually upgrade technical skills.
- Availability for overtime and flexibility in hours of work.
- Availability to travel to off-site and international training.
- Valid Driver’s License and use of vehicle to support sites.

Requirements
Requires a three- or four-year degree or diploma in engineering, building or computer science, or a related field, plus five years of recent experience using computer systems to support complex building system maintenance and operations. Candidates need policy development, systems development, process engineering, quality control, and advanced office application skills, along with strong communication abilities, a valid driver's license and vehicle, and flexibility for overtime, travel, and ongoing technical training.
