WAGE RATE: $61,355 – $73,547
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for the Human Resources department. The Human Resources Coordinator works independently and collaboratively to deliver a broad range of HR services including but not limited to: customer service, general administrative support, onboarding, benefits, pension and leave administration, and records management.
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department with a focus on employee and labour relations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Previous experience in a unionized environment and knowledge of collective agreement administration
- Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively deal with the public, staff and leadership
- Previous experience in delivering presentations and workshops to various audiences
- Demonstrated ability to take accurate, effective and timely minutes
- Respect for confidentiality and adherence to privacy legislation
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
- Self-directed, flexible and adaptable to changing workload and work environment
- Computer skills, at the intermediate level, including use of Microsoft 365
- Ability to effectively handle multiple demands and complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner and to prioritize workload in accordance with department needs and timelines
- Ability to develop reports, presentations, and draft correspondence
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
