What You'll Do

Reporting to the Deputy-Treasurer, the Capital Asset Analyst provides cost effective and high-quality financial services for the planning, development, implementation and sustainability of a Public Sector Accounting Board Standard 3150 (PSAB 3150) compliant, capital asset accounting and reporting system, as well as related policies and procedures. The incumbent is also to provide long-term asset management strategies including future capital funding approaches and maintenance and supervision of capital asset financial and budgeting methodologies. The Analyst is responsible for ensuring all budget dollars flowing through the capital general ledger are compliant with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB), and related legislative regulations.

Contract Duration: November 2026 to December 2027

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

•Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or Commerce

•Recognized accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA)

•Three years of previous experience in a related field

Skills & Abilities

•Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs and applications

•Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements

•Strong knowledge of fiscal management, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships

•Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies

•Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices

•Meticulous with numbers

•High level of integrity and excellent work ethic

•Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices

•Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills

•Strong formal and informal leadership skills

•Strong quantitative, problem solving and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities
