Fluid Volume Reporting Technician
Location: Calgary, AB
Type: 1 year contract
Pay Rate Range: $40/h - $55/h
Schedule: 40 hours per week | 8 hours per day
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Fluid Volume Reporting Technician to join a dynamic operations accounting team supporting large-scale oil sands operations. This role is responsible for the accurate tracking, reporting, reconciliation, and management of fluid movement data across multiple operating sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring data integrity, supporting month-end reporting requirements, and working closely with stakeholders across production accounting, measurement, environmental operations, and fluid haul teams.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Retrieve, organize, and review fluid transfer truck and pipeline tickets.
- Enter approximately 60 to 100 fluid movement tickets daily into the Energy Components system.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of all source documentation.
- Research and resolve missing or incomplete information through archived records and stakeholder communications.
- Validate fluid source and destination information.
- Perform quality checks on daily entries to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Maintain organized records in accordance with reporting procedures and compliance requirements.
Reporting & Reconciliation
- Compile and reconcile third-party disposal reports against internal records.
- Review and reconcile rig reports with operational data systems.
- Support month-end reporting activities by ensuring all required documentation has been received and processed.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and reporting anomalies.
- Correct inaccurate entries and work collaboratively with accounting and operational teams to maintain data integrity.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with internal groups including:
- Fluid Haul Operations
- Production Accounting
- Measurement Teams
- Environmental Operations
- Drilling Waste Teams
- Gather and track specialized project data, including propane, butane, and other fluid movements.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, and safety within reporting processes.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Experience using Energy Components (EC).
- Working knowledge of SAGD operations and associated fluid movement processes.
- Experience with operational or production accounting data entry and reporting.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas measurement, reporting, and reconciliation practices.
