Junior Transportation Support Coordinator
Location: Kitimat, BC (must be local to Kitimat or Terrace)
Contract Length: 12 months
Pay Rate Range: $35/h - $38/h
Schedule: 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts (evenings and weekends may be required)

About the Role
Brunel is seeking a reliable and experienced Junior Transportation Support Coordinator to support a large-scale people transportation network in Kitimat, British Columbia. The successful candidate will bring strong computer and data management skills, along with experience in commercial transportation, fleet management, or dispatch operations. This role provides operational and contract management support for passenger transportation services, including scheduling and optimizing transportation routes, modes, and related infrastructure. The position involves both office-based and field-based work.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate passenger movement operations, including scheduling, cost management, record-keeping, and dashboard reporting.
- Support passenger transportation between the project site, Terrace, Terrace Airport, and designated park-and-ride locations.
- Coordinate on-site and in-town shuttle services.
- Work with transportation contractors and participate in field engagement activities.
- Support site traffic planning and off-site parking infrastructure.
- Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, management, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Support fleet maintenance activities, including repositioning vehicles when required.
- Deliver timely and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of safe-driving programs for personnel.
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- More than five years of experience in fleet management, commercial transportation, or dispatch operations.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Power BI experience is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher.
- Air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and adapt to changing schedules.
- Ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
