Procurement Analyst
Location: Calgary, AB
Type: Contract
Duration: One year with potential of extension
Introduction:
Brunel is currently seeking a Procurement Analyst who will support procurement requirements within Maintenance, Operations and other auxiliary Site Service business areas of Christina Lake North. This role will support all operational requirements of materials and services, partnering closely with various internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Source and expedite external goods in alignment with approved buying, receiving, and transportation channels to meet operational requirements.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders on purchasing policies, practices, and objectives.
- Recommend and select appropriate procurement methods based on the size, value, and complexity of business needs.
- Execute the competitive procurement process, including RFx development, evaluation, award, execution, and closeout.
- Collaborate with the SCM Service Center (SSC) to resolve pricing discrepancies, PO confirmations, settlement issues, and GR/IR imbalances.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely goods receipt and support internal KPIs (e.g., On-Time In-Full).
- Partner with maintenance planners to ensure alignment between PM and MRP integration points.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships; act as liaison between business stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure effective communication and expectation alignment.
- Support Category Management Teams as needed to advance sourcing initiatives.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing procurement costs and improving efficiency.
- Operate in compliance with Supply Chain Management Policy, Companies Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, and all applicable company policies, standards, processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as required to support evolving business needs.
This role may work closely with the following key stakeholders:
Internal: Asset Maintenance & Reliability, Category Management, SCM Process & Performance, SCM Service Center (SSC), Community and Indigenous Affairs (CIA), Finance, Audit, and other internal teams as required.
External: Suppliers and other external groups as required (e.g., external auditors, Indigenous communities)
Supplier Management
- Support the development of positive, performance-focused relationships with suppliers by encouraging service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Assist in verifying that suppliers meet company commercial, technical, and safety requirements.
- Help maintain supplier performance tracking tools and contribute to performance management plans as needed.
Sourcing /Contracting
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the execution of sourcing and contracting strategies that align with business needs and approved procurement channels.
- Collaborate with category teams to support planning, target setting, and opportunity identification.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery of sourcing outcomes.
- Promote the use of consistent, modern sourcing practices to drive value and supply assurance.
- Ensure procurement activities follow approved buying, receiving, and transportation processes to minimize transaction costs
Risk Management & Data Integrity
- Assist in identifying and tracking key performance metrics to support efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Help identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive monitoring and collaboration.
- Support the development and maintenance of SCM dashboards and reporting tools.
Leadership
- Support team objectives by contributing to individual goals that align with broader supply chain and organizational priorities.
- Assist in optimizing supply chain processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements within scope of work.
- Use data and analytics tools to gather insights and support fact-based decision-making under guidance from senior team members.
- Collaborate effectively to help resolve operational challenges and contribute to high-quality service and performance outcomes.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including the Supply Chain Management Policy, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or supplier management
- Knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P) lifecycle, performance metrics and reporting, and SCM processes
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Experience in SAP and ARIBA
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and process improvement
- Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment with dynamically shifting priorities and deadlines
Assets:
- Oil & Gas, Mining, or Utilities industry experience preferred.
- Post-secondary business or supply chain degree preferred.
- Professional Supply Chain certification (SCMP/CSCP/CPM/CPSM) preferred
