Introduction

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead large-scale capital projects within a complex industrial processing environment. This role is responsible for delivering major brownfield projects from feasibility through commissioning, with accountability for safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality, contractor management, and stakeholder alignment.

The successful candidate will have proven experience executing projects within operating facilities, including managing shutdowns, tie-ins, and integration of new infrastructure with existing systems. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, exceptional safety leadership, and a track record of successfully delivering complex capital projects in heavy industrial or processing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of major capital projects valued between $50M–$350M, overseeing all phases from feasibility and design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards while balancing operational and commercial objectives.
  • Manage project risks, critical path activities, and recovery plans in a complex brownfield environment.
  • Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, and integration activities within an active industrial processing facility.
  • Lead and align multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, operations, contractors, and consultants.
  • Manage EPC/EPCM contractors, supplier relationships, contracts, and project performance.
  • Operate within a structured governance framework, providing regular reporting to senior leadership and supporting key investment decisions.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and corporate requirements.
  • Supervise members of the owner's project team assigned to the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10–15+ years of capital project delivery experience within heavy industrial environments.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale capital projects ($50M–$350M) with direct accountability for project outcomes.
  • Strong brownfield project experience within active operating facilities.
  • Experience in complex processing industries such as smelting, refining, metallurgy, chemicals, oil & gas, power generation, or other heavy industrial processing environments.
  • Experience delivering major equipment installations or upgrades, including boilers, furnaces, kilns, roasters, or similar process assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage contractors, consultants, and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, stage-gate processes, project controls, commercial management, and value engineering principles.
