Job Title: Learning, Meeting, and Huddle Space (LMH) Technician
Contract: Until March 31, 2027. Possibility of extension
Scheduling: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Location: Toronto, Ontario (On Site)
Job Summary
The LMH Technician plays a key role in supporting academic learning spaces, administrative meeting areas, and student huddle spaces by delivering technical support for integrated Audio Video (AV) systems and managing the academic printer fleet. As the first responder, the LMH Technician is expected to independently resolve most technical issues encountered.
This role also includes performing repairs, replacements, and assisting with AV system upgrades. The technician will monitor service requests, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate with other teams to implement system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for integrated AV systems across academic and meeting spaces.
- Ensure high availability and functionality of AV and printing equipment.
- Deliver excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and perform necessary repairs or component replacements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common and complex AV issues.
- Train users on effective use of AV equipment and provide troubleshooting guidance.
- Monitor and prioritize service tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, troubleshooting actions, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to improve system reliability and performance.
- Track KPIs such as first-call resolution, knowledge transfer, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent work experience with integrated AV systems.
- Industry certifications such as CTS, CompTIA (A+, Network+, IT Fundamentals) are assets.
- Familiarity with ITIL, HDI, or Project Management best practices is a plus.
- Strong passion for professional growth and continuous learning.
Experience Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in the AV industry.
- Proven track record in AV support and troubleshooting.
- Network, PC, and printer troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with AV hardware repair and replacement.
- Ability to work independently and solve technical problems under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player willing to adapt to new technologies and evolving processes.
