The Waterfront Operations Coordinator supports the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of marina facilities across the waterfront portfolio. Reporting to the Area Manager, this position coordinates daily operational activities, provides frontline tenant and stakeholder support, conducts routine inspections, assists with maintenance, and supports compliance with organizational, safety, and environmental standards. The Waterfront Operations Coordinator escalates issues appropriately and contributes to a positive and professional marina environment. The Waterfront Operations Coordinator will supervise and manage our frontline operations summer students who occupy the roles of Property Attendant, Marina Attendant and Waterfront Ambassadors.

What you'll do
Responsibilities
Operations & Customer Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer complaints, inquiries, and service concerns; provide courteous assistance, address matters within scope, and escalate unresolved or complex issues through the appropriate channels.
- Coordinate daily marina activities and manage customer communications in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate super yacht berth requests and related communications, ensuring all booking details requiring operational decisions are directed to management for approval.
- Serve as the primary user of the marina booking software by maintaining proficiency in system functions, troubleshooting user issues within scope, and providing guidance to staff on standard system use.
- Assist with the coordination of marine-related event bookings by providing required information, documenting basic event requirements, directing detailed planning needs to management, and completing related tasks as directed by management.
- Maintain organized storage of operational information, forms, and booking records within the designated SharePoint Blueprint folders.
- Oversee litter collection and waste-management data collection, analyze results, and recommend operational improvements.
- Support planning and operational readiness for the Bedford Mill Cove Marina and any future marine developments in the central zone.
Safety, Compliance & Inspections
- Follow all marina safety procedures and organizational policies at all times.
- Support compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Committee (OHSC) requirements, marine regulations, and environmental standards by following established procedures and promptly escalating concerns.
- Lead Blue Flag certification requirements and environmental compliance initiatives.
Leadership, Coordination & Reporting
- Support seasonal staff by providing day-to-day guidance and leadership on basic procedures and site practices in alignment with management direction.
- Coordinate, develop, and deliver seasonal staff training in accordance with established procedures and operational requirements.
- Ensure seasonal staff are following required safety procedures and applicable regulations by monitoring work practices, addressing and documenting instances of non‑compliance, and escalating repeated or serious concerns to management.
- Coordinate and carry out assigned work activities in accordance with operational priorities and the established chain of command.
- Escalate issues related to safety, maintenance, operational risk, missed deadlines, tenant concerns, or other operational challenges to management in accordance with established procedures.
- Support revenue tracking, reporting, and general operational data collection as required by management.
- Complete operational logs, inspection records, and other documentation accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of berth assignments, bookings, and visitor information as directed to support management oversight.
- Conduct routine audits of seasonal staff duties to verify work is performed to required standards and report findings to management for follow‑up.
- Follow the established chain of command and direct internal communications through the appropriate supervisory levels.
- Obtain management approval before initiating communication with contractors, and provide all instructions, updates, and site-access details in accordance with management direction.
- Ensure all communications with tenants are routed through management, refrain from providing operational decisions or commitments directly to tenants, and avoid initiating contact or outreach to tenants without prior authorization from management.
- Complete summer student performance reviews in a well-documented and thoughtful manner.
Travel & Site Support
- Travel between marina sites as required, using a personal vehicle in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide on-site presence and support at various marina locations to assist with operations, inspections, and events as directed.
- Additional duties may be assigned to support marina operations and organizational needs.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in a licensed trade is an asset, such as welding, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry;
- Experience leading and directing staff in a team environment;
- Experience in marine infrastructure maintenance and repair;
- Experience with building systems, including HVAC, security, electrical, and plumbing, is considered an asset;
- Experience with procurement-related activities is an asset;
- Considerable experience using power tools for landscaping, construction, maintenance, and repair;
- Experience working at high-profile properties with significant public visitation is an asset;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members;
- Ability to schedule work, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines;
- Ability to triage requirements based on internal capacities and or external support need, particularly with respect to the timely repair of emergency and or priority issues;
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A passion for working with your hands and a drive to learn new things.
- Critical thinking along with strong problem-solving skills;
- Considerable use of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word;
- Valid Class 5 drivers' license;
- Possession of or willingness to attain a Forklift Operator's License and Fall Arrest Training;
- Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a Pleasure Craft Operator Card and Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime);
- Possession of, or willingness to obtain, First Aid and WHMIS certification;
- Demonstrated initiative and a consistently positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- Physically capable of climbing docks, walking on uneven surfaces, lifting and carrying moderate loads, and performing hands-on operational tasks.
- Ability and willingness to travel between marina sites; valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required.

Pay Grade: NSL-09
Salary Range: $2426.23 - $2757.06 Bi-Weekly
Salary Placement: The placement of a new hire into the salary range is based on an objective salary rating process. This process will assess the knowledge, skills, experiences and overall qualifications of a candidate to determine appropriate placement. Each pay grade has established steps, and new hires cannot exceed certain maximums which are outlined in the Compensation Framework.
