Payroll Functional Lead
Position Summary
The Payroll Functional Lead will oversee the conversion and implementation of payroll processing for US and Canada operations in SAP payroll systems. This role requires deep expertise in North American payroll regulations, configuration of payroll schemas, and management of complex compensation and deduction structures for SAP payroll solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Payroll Process Design & Configuration
Design and configure SAP Payroll module (HCM-PY) for US and Canada payroll processing.
Map legacy payroll processes to SAP payroll functionality and identify gaps.
Configure payroll schemas, wage types, and calculation rules.
Set up payroll control records, organizational hierarchies, and payroll master data.
Design payroll calendars and payroll processing schedules.
Configure statutory deductions, payroll taxes, and benefit withholdings.
Establish payroll posting logic to finance modules.
Regulatory Compliance & Payroll Updates
Ensure payroll processes comply with US federal, state, and Canadian payroll regulations.
Manage payroll tax updates and legislative changes for North America.
Maintain knowledge of CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) and IRS payroll requirements.
Coordinate with Compliance and Finance on payroll regulatory changes.
Document payroll regulatory requirements and control matrices.
Support payroll audit and compliance reporting requirements.
Maintain payroll policy documentation.
US/Canada Payroll Operations
Oversee payroll configuration for all US and Canadian legal entities.
Manage state and provincial tax deduction tables for payroll.
Configure workers' compensation and employment insurance requirements.
Set up provincial/state-specific payroll wage calculations.
Manage multi-currency payroll requirements (USD and CAD).
Establish payroll control procedures.
