Job Summary:

The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth and strengthening Bureau Veritas’ presence across British Columbia’s environmental testing, site assessment and remediation market. This role will build on an established presence in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver market by maintaining and expanding existing relationships, developing new business opportunities, and building relationships with senior-level decision makers.

The successful candidate will be a highly engaged, market-facing business development professional with a strong network and a demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new opportunities. The role requires a proactive “hunter” mentality, with the ability to open doors, develop trusted relationships, and bring Bureau Veritas into strategic conversations earlier in the project lifecycle.

The position will focus on opportunities associated with environmental due diligence, site assessment and remediation, construction and infrastructure development, industrial and commercial projects, and other initiatives where environmental testing and monitoring are required. The successful candidate will help position Bureau Veritas as a trusted partner as clients navigate changing site uses, development, redevelopment, infrastructure investment, and environmental requirements.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on market development, client relationships and revenue growth. The successful candidate will work closely with internal technical, laboratory, project management and business development teams to convert opportunities into long-term client relationships and profitable business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development & Market Growth:

Drive profitable revenue growth across British Columbia through new business development, strategic account growth, and expansion of existing client relationships.
Build on Bureau Veritas' established presence in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver by leveraging an existing professional network and developing relationships with senior decision-makers.
Identify and pursue opportunities related to environmental due diligence, site assessment and remediation, soil and groundwater testing, construction monitoring, industrial discharge, and related environmental services.
Develop opportunities across real estate and land development, infrastructure, industrial, mining, government, defense, and other major development programs.
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, consultative selling, RFPs, and sole-sourced opportunities.

Client & Account Development:

Develop trusted relationships with senior-level clients, consultants, engineering firms, developers, contractors, and other key industry stakeholders.
Develop and execute account strategies that identify client needs, expand relationships, and create opportunities for long-term revenue growth.
Maintain strong visibility with key accounts and identify opportunities to introduce additional Bureau Veritas capabilities.
Represent Bureau Veritas at industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and client meetings to strengthen market presence and generate new business.

Collaboration & Business Execution:

Partner with Project Managers, Scientific Services, laboratory teams, and business leadership to align client needs with Bureau Veritas' capabilities and support successful project delivery.
Collaborate with regional and national Business Development leadership to align territory priorities, sales strategies, and revenue goals.
Maintain accurate account, opportunity, and pipeline information in applicable CRM systems.
Provide market intelligence and insight into customer needs, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities across British Columbia.
Support department revenue and expense planning and participate in business development initiatives as required.
Adhere to Bureau Veritas' Code of Ethics, Quality System, Health & Safety program, and applicable company policies.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

Proven success in business development, strategic account management, and revenue growth.
Strong existing network and knowledge of the British Columbia environmental, engineering, construction, real estate, infrastructure, or related markets.
Demonstrated ability to develop new business and establish relationships with senior-level decision-makers.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Highly self-directed and comfortable working independently in a territory-based role.
Strong business judgment with the ability to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong client relationship management skills.
Collaborative and effective working across a matrixed organization.
French is an asset but not required.
Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Education, Certifications & Experience:

University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Business, or a related field preferred.
10+ years of progressive business development, sales, account management, or related experience within the environmental testing, consulting, engineering, construction, laboratory, or related industries.
Established relationships and demonstrated business development success within the British Columbia market strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience developing new business, expanding strategic accounts, and working with senior-level decision-makers.

Travel:

Travel by Plane, Motor Vehicle, Train (25% of time) to client/project sites across British Columbia required.
Employees in this role should expect frequent travel.

This posting is for an existing vacancy. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 with a 20% target bonus.
