About the Role

Burly Boyz Moving is hiring experienced commercial drivers to lead our moving crews. As a Driver / Lead Mover, you’ll operate our fleet of 3-ton, 5-ton, and 7-ton trucks, oversee crews on-site, and make sure every customer’s belongings arrive safely and on schedule.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll do more than drive: you’ll direct the crew, work alongside them loading and unloading, and serve as the main point of contact for customers on moving day. If you’re a safe, confident driver who enjoys staying active and taking ownership of the job, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Driving and Vehicle Safety

  • Safely operate 3-ton, 5-ton, and 7-ton trucks in residential, urban, and highway environments
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report mechanical issues
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs through Samsara in compliance with Hours of Service regulations
  • Plan efficient routes and manage arrival times
  • Complete local, long-distance, and out-of-town pick-ups and deliveries

Crew Leadership

  • Lead and direct crew members on-site, assigning tasks and setting the pace of the job
  • Make sure the crew follows proper procedures for protecting furniture, floors, railings, and doorways
  • Oversee loading, stacking, and securing of goods so loads travel safely
  • Model safe lifting practices and a professional standard of work

Customer Service and Administration

  • Serve as the customer’s main contact on moving day, confirming their needs and expectations
  • Conduct furniture inventories at pick-up and delivery
  • Complete digital invoices, timesheets, and inspection forms using Jobber and our mobile apps
  • Collect client payments and resolve on-site concerns professionally

Moving Duties

  • Participate fully in loading, unloading, and carrying customers’ goods
  • Disassemble and reassemble furniture using hand tools
  • Stage and set up furniture to client specifications

Training

All new drivers complete paid onboarding covering our moving procedures, customer service standards, software (Jobber and Samsara), and fleet operation. Drivers who are new to the moving industry will also learn furniture protection, wrapping, and loading techniques before taking on a Lead Mover role.
