Position Title: RFS 1019388- Senior Business Analyst

Location: Regina, Saskatchewan – Onsite

Mode: Contract

Position Overview

Client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager to support the delivery of small to medium-sized Cybersecurity, IT, and Infrastructure projects.

A successful candidate will be responsible for performing a combination of Business Analysis, Project Management, Project Administration, Requirements Management, Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities. The role requires a strong understanding of IT environments, business processes, project delivery methodologies, and security/infrastructure initiatives.

The ideal candidate will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, Project Managers, Solution Architects, Developers, IT&S resources, vendors, and third-party representatives to ensure that business requirements are clearly defined, solutions are appropriately validated, and projects are successfully transitioned into operations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business requirements for system acquisition, development, enhancement, and project work orders.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and approved SaskPower users to define functional and non-functional requirements.
Identify enhancement opportunities from a business and operational perspective.
Analyze and refine business requirements and recommend appropriate options and solutions.
Facilitate agreement on requirements across multiple business groups and stakeholders.
Conduct business process analysis, modelling, and redesign.
Identify business impacts associated with proposed solutions and enhancements.
Develop and maintain business benefits documentation supporting new or enhanced solutions.
Define requirements acceptance criteria and establish requirements traceability.
Identify potential impacts to existing operations, maintenance activities, service levels, and business processes.
Ensure requirements related to data processing, outputs, backup, restoration, restart, and reprocessing are appropriately documented.
Perform peer reviews of requirements and design documentation.

Project Management & Coordination

Support the planning and execution of small to medium-sized IT, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure projects.
Perform project planning, scope management, integration management, and project execution activities.
Provide strong project administration and coordination support.
Coordinate activities across Business, Project Management, Solution Architecture, Development, IT&S, Security, and third-party teams.
Track project activities, dependencies, deliverables, risks, issues, and timelines.
Prepare project status reports and other project documentation as required.
Coordinate stakeholder meetings and facilitate discussions to achieve project objectives.
Support forecasting of enhancement development requirements and implementation priorities within established funding constraints.
Assist with application acquisition, development, enhancement, and procurement activities.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop and maintain comprehensive testing strategies and test plans covering functional, integration, and User Acceptance Testing.
Estimate testing tasks and testing effort.
Develop complete test scenarios and prioritize them to ensure adequate test coverage.
Create, identify, review, and execute manual test scripts.
Develop and document System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cases.
Ensure test cases and scenarios are traceable to documented requirements.
Identify and coordinate test data requirements and test data creation.
Develop test schedules and coordinate testing activities.
Facilitate UAT with business stakeholders and third-party representatives where applicable.
Log, monitor, track, and coordinate resolution of defects and enhancements.
Lead test team meetings and defect management meetings.
Monitor testing progress and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
Prepare testing status reports and final test phase reports.
Identify regression test requirements and support regression testing.

Transition to Operations & Warranty Support

Support the transition of tested solutions into operational environments.
Identify and document outstanding defects and provide supporting information to operational support teams.
Facilitate knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
Establish warranty expectations and support agreements.
Monitor warranty performance and initiate remedial actions where required.
Coordinate follow-up activities related to warranty monitoring, reporting, and assessment.
Assign and track responsibility for remediation activities.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of relevant professional experience in Business Analysis, Project Management, or a combination of both.
Strong experience working within IT environments.
Experience supporting small to medium-sized projects.
Experience with Cybersecurity and/or IT Infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
Experience working within IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments is an asset.
Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management experience.
Strong understanding of business process analysis and modelling.
Experience with functional and non-functional requirements.
Proven experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
Strong experience with manual testing, UAT, SIT, defect management, and regression testing.
Experience working within Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
Strong project coordination and project administration skills.
Ability to understand complex business processes, rules, and technical environments.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
General understanding of application development, databases, interfaces, and system design.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and meet tight deadlines.
Experience working with internal stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and third-party representatives.
Experience with procurement documentation is an asset.
