Senior Salesforce Developer

Position Title: RQ11723 - Senior Solutions Designer – CRM (Salesforce)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, (Onsite)

Position Summary

A successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex Salesforce CRM solutions that align with business requirements, enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and accessibility guidelines.

The role requires strong knowledge of Salesforce Experience Cloud, OmniStudio/Vlocity capabilities, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Dynamic Forms, and system integration. Experience supporting healthcare applications, particularly Long-Term Care (LTC) systems and solutions involving personal health information, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, configure, implement, and maintain Salesforce CRM solutions in alignment with business requirements, client specifications, enterprise architecture standards, and established best practices.
2. Provide hands-on Salesforce solution design and configuration, including Experience Cloud, Dynamic Forms, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and OmniStudio/Vlocity components.
3. Design, configure, and support integrations between Salesforce and internal or external applications using web services, APIs, and other appropriate integration mechanisms.
4. Develop and maintain technical design documents, system specifications, process documentation, build books, implementation guides, and other project deliverables.
5. Conduct technical research, feasibility assessments, fit-gap analysis, and proof-of-concept development to identify appropriate solutions for complex design and implementation challenges.
6. Troubleshoot Salesforce application issues, perform root cause analysis, diagnose incidents, and implement effective fixes across development, testing, and production environments.
7. Ensure solutions comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), applicable accessibility standards, security requirements, privacy policies, and healthcare information protection requirements.
8. Design and develop accessible, responsive web applications that operate consistently across modern browsers, platforms, and mobile devices.
9. Apply Salesforce platform best practices, including security configurations, governor limits, platform constraints, performance optimization, and integration standards.
10. Support unit testing, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect management, release planning, deployment, and post-implementation support.
11. Contribute to Agile delivery activities, including epics, features, user stories, story-point estimation, work breakdown structures, resource estimates, and technical implementation planning.
12. Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes to improve deployment quality, consistency, and release efficiency.
13. Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, communicate risks, and provide regular updates to business stakeholders and I&IT management.
14. Develop and maintain training materials, technical documentation, and communication resources, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams as required.
15. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements, usability expectations, security standards, and project timelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1. Healthcare and Public Sector Experience

• A minimum of five years of experience working in the healthcare industry, preferably supporting Long-Term Care (LTC) systems, Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Hospital Information Systems (HISs), clinical assessment tools, or Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS)-compliant systems.
• Knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements governing the protection of personal health information and their application to healthcare system development and maintenance is preferred.
• Experience working in public sector or government environments is an asset.

2. Salesforce Experience

• A minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in Salesforce solution design, configuration, development, implementation, and support.
• Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I.
• Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Developer.
• Salesforce Certified Experience Cloud Consultant.
• Salesforce Certified Administrator.
• A minimum of three years of experience working with Lightning Web Components (LWC).
• Demonstrated experience implementing and configuring Salesforce Dynamic Forms.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, configuration capabilities, security, and development best practices.

3. Solution Design, Analysis, Development, and Configuration

• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, developing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Salesforce solutions.
• Experience configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting Salesforce implementations and their integrations with related systems across development and production environments.
• Strong experience integrating Salesforce with internal applications using web services, APIs, and other integration mechanisms.
• Experience designing and supporting prototypes, proof of concepts, and technical solution assessments.
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot defects and incidents, and implement effective technical resolutions.
• Experience developing and maintaining build books, implementation documentation, technical specifications, and system performance measures.
• Experience conducting fit-gap analysis between high-level business requirements and Salesforce Public Sector capabilities.
• Experience with incident diagnostics, problem management, and application support processes.
• Demonstrated experience implementing AODA-compliant solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Vlocity/OmniStudio capabilities, including:
• FlexCards
• DataRaptors
• Integration Procedures
• Calculation Matrices and Calculation Procedures
• OmniScripts
• Vlocity Data Model
• Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC)
• Strong understanding of Salesforce security settings, governor limits, platform limitations, and performance considerations.
• Experience implementing CI/CD processes, preferably within Salesforce implementation projects.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including epics, features, user stories, and story-point estimation.
• Knowledge of MuleSoft and its integration capabilities is an asset.

4. Management, Communication, and Stakeholder Engagement

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, and I&IT management.
• Experience monitoring project progress, resolving issues, managing risks, and providing regular status updates to decision-makers.
• Experience developing or supporting the development of training materials and communication plans for large-scale system implementations.
• Strong teamwork, time management, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet demanding project deadlines.

Mandatory Requirements (Must-Haves)

1. Hands-on Salesforce Expertise: Demonstrated experience designing, supporting, developing, maintaining, and configuring Salesforce solutions.
2. Salesforce Certification: Salesforce Certified Experience Cloud Consultant.
3. Vlocity/OmniStudio Expertise: Practical experience with FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, Calculation Matrices and Procedures, OmniScripts, the Vlocity Data Model, and Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC).
4. Salesforce Dynamic Forms: Demonstrated experience configuring and implementing Salesforce Dynamic Forms.
5. AODA Compliance: Proven experience implementing accessibility-compliant solutions in accordance with AODA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare or Long-Term Care digital transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of Ontario healthcare systems, OHRS standards, and personal health information protection requirements.
• Experience with MuleSoft and enterprise application integration.
• Experience with Salesforce CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and release management.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and public sector project governance.
