About the Company

C.A.T. North America is a Canadian, family-owned transportation group founded in 1978. With more than 1,600 trucks, 4,300 trailers, 25 terminals and 2,100 employees across Canada, the United States and Mexico, C.A.T. is one of the leading transportation and logistics providers in North America, covering trucking, brokerage, logistics, leasing and real estate.

About the Role

The Corporate Trainer will play a key role in strengthening the capabilities of our workforce by delivering comprehensive training on both software applications and business processes in the transportation and logistics industry. The successful candidate will be part of a small agile project team implementing systems across the company's divisions in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Their expertise in leading engaging, effective training sessions will be essential to preparing each division for a successful transition, improving employee performance, and supporting the long-term success of the organization.

The position involves designing and delivering training on the new systems and on the business processes it supports. Audiences include planners, dispatchers, operations staff, and administrative staff. Over time, the role may extend to training on other enterprise software platforms and IT initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely within the project team and with subject matter experts to understand the system, its configuration, and the related business processes.
  • Assess each division's current processes, training needs, and performance gaps before deployment, and design targeted training programs.
  • Develop and deliver training in person and on virtual platforms, using presentations, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, group discussions, and workshops.
  • Create and maintain training documentation, including user manuals, quick reference guides, videos, and online resources.
  • Test new processes, workflows, system changes, and features with business analysts and developers.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for user support during and after go-live, using in-depth knowledge of the platform to help users resolve issues and work effectively outside of formal training sessions.
  • Help transition ongoing user support to the IT helpdesk team as adoption grows, including preparing support documentation and sharing platform knowledge with helpdesk staff.
  • Collect user feedback and report gaps in the system, processes, or training to the project team.
  • Measure training effectiveness using user feedback, error rates, and support requests, and improve programs based on the results.
  • Support training for other software platforms and IT projects as business needs evolve.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency, based on training sessions and field observations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Education, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience delivering training on software applications and business processes.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of complex business systems. TMS experience is ideal. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or similar systems is also highly relevant.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage audiences of varying backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering virtual training and using e-learning platforms and tools.
  • Strong writing skills for user documentation and training materials.
  • An analytical approach to evaluating training effectiveness and making data-driven improvements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage several training projects at once.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team with changing priorities.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English training will be delivered to teams across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
  • Willingness to travel to company locations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as required.

Assets

  • Fluency in Spanish, a strong asset because the system is being deployed in Mexico and in Spanish-speaking operations in the United States.
  • Knowledge of French.
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including dispatch, load planning, driver management, and compliance (for example, hours of service and electronic logging devices).
  • Experience with fleet management software, route planning tools, or electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Experience working on agile project teams.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience building or managing content in a knowledge base or documentation platform.
  • Certification in training, adult education, or instructional design.
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools or learning management systems (LMS).

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Health and wellness program.

  • Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
  • A positive work environment focused on knowledge sharing and recognizing individual and team achievements.
