Original job description

At Cactus Club Cafe, we love what we do, and we love the people we do it with. As one of the most innovative restaurant concepts in Canada, we are continuously celebrated as one of the country’s best places to work. We firmly believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, supported and valued. Today, these restaurants are a national brand, and are experiencing the fastest growth in its history.

Continuously innovating and implementing new technology, our IT Team maintains and supports all technologies including audio visual, hospitality and head office based systems while partnering with Operations to rollout, implement and update programs to ensure efficiencies.

YOU ARE:

  • An Experienced Platform Engineer: You have 6+ years in cloud, platform or DevOps roles, running production systems people rely on. AWS or Google Cloud experience is preferred.
  • Hands-On with AI: You've worked directly with the Anthropic, OpenAI or Vertex AI APIs and agent frameworks, and you know what it takes to run them reliably and affordably in production.
  • Strong on Security: You've set up SSO and role-based access, managed secrets, and worked with logging, threat modelling and incident response.
  • A Technical Leader: You set best practices, review code, write documentation people can follow and help others build well.
  • Calm Under Pressure: You stay methodical when something breaks in production.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Building the AI Platform: Designing, building and running our agent platform for our AI & Workflow Automation Analysts, IT and a group of trained business builders, who work in tools like Claude Code, Codex and GitHub.
  • Running the Toolkit: Managing GitHub, deployment pipelines, model access and the AWS environment for our AI work.
  • Securing AI Systems: Owning identity, secrets, logging, network isolation and incident response, including quarterly access reviews and penetration tests.
  • Reviewing What Goes Live: Running the approval process for new models, tools and projects, with sign-off from Infrastructure and Security.
  • Supporting Production: Handling Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues escalated from our support team.
  • Managing Costs: Tracking model and hosting spend and flagging overruns early.
  • Onboarding the Team: Getting people set up on the platform and writing the guides they use.

WE WILL:

  • Give you the ultimate Cactus discount, 50% off food + drinks, hungry yet?
  • Focus on your training and development, we’re believers in lifelong learning
  • Foster a fun culture that makes coming to work genuinely enjoyable
  • Provide compensation between $170,000 to $195,000. The compensation package for this role takes various factors into consideration including market rates, experience, and qualifications
  • Offer a competitive benefits package and wellness spending account

Continuously on the grow, Cactus Club Cafe is one of the most successful concepts in Canada and our expansion will continue. We are always looking for talented and inspiring individuals to join our team. Applications are accepted from all individuals. Please note that due to the high volume of applicants, we will only reach out if you are selected to move forward in the interview process.
