Quality Inspector

Rolls-Royce M250 Engine Shop

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Employment type: Full-Time

Shift: Day Shift

About Us

Cadorath is a family-owned Canadian company founded in 1954, specializing in manufacturing, repairing, and enhancing critical component parts for the aviation, agriculture, industrial, mining, and oil & gas sectors. With facilities in Canada and the U.S., we support customers ranging from local operators to major global OEMs. Our capabilities include precision manufacturing, aerospace engine and component repair and overhaul, auger manufacturing, and a wide range of advanced metal finishing and special processes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly meticulous Quality Inspector to join our Rolls-Royce M250 Engine Shop. Operating within a Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulated Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment, you will oversee critical quality activities throughout the engine module maintenance lifecycle.

This role serves as the bridge between technical compliance and customer confidence. You will perform incoming inspections, review technical records and documentation, verify regulatory compliance, and conduct final inspections to ensure every engine module meets airworthiness, customer, and company standards before release.

This position is intended for an experienced aviation quality professional who can quickly integrate into our operation and contribute with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Module Inspection & Induction

Perform incoming inspections on engine modules, identifying shipping damage, handling defects, and obvious discrepancies.
Conduct visual inspections to establish the as-received condition of incoming modules.
Document module condition using comprehensive digital photography.
Review customer purchase orders and work instructions against approved repair capabilities.
Audit engine and module logbooks to verify operational history and baseline configuration.
Open work orders within the ERP system and establish inspection records for the maintenance cycle.
Create and maintain digital and physical quality records throughout the overhaul process.

Final Inspection, Verification & Sign-Off

Conduct final visual inspections to verify workmanship, assembly integrity, routing, plumbing, and overall product quality.
Verify critical assembly requirements, including torque records, build tolerances, and supporting documentation.
Audit completed work scopes to ensure all work performed and parts installed align with customer requirements and approved quotations.
Review material certifications to ensure complete traceability and regulatory compliance.
Audit Commercial Engine Bulletins (CEBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and life-limited component records.
Complete and sign off technical records supporting final airworthiness release.
Ensure all quality documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with TCCA requirements.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Technical Knowledge

Minimum 3-5 years of aviation quality inspection, quality assurance, or maintenance experience within a Transport Canada regulated environment.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Rolls-Royce M250 engine modules.
Strong understanding of aviation technical records, component traceability, airworthiness requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Proven ability to review and validate maintenance records, material certifications, logbooks, and inspection documentation.
Experience working within an MRO, engine overhaul, or aviation maintenance environment.

Regulatory Authority & Certification Requirements

Must currently hold, or have recently held, inspection, certification, or quality authority within a TCCA-approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) or equivalent regulated environment.
Must be able to provide records demonstrating previous authorization and experience exercising certification or inspection authority.
Demonstrated regulatory knowledge and experience that would support expedited consideration for internal inspection authority qualifications.
Experience reviewing and approving airworthiness documentation, release records, and maintenance certifications.

Skills & Competencies

Exceptional attention to detail and auditing capability.
Strong ability to cross-reference technical documentation, maintenance records, and customer work scopes.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and communication abilities.
Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and digital record management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Quality Inspector or QA authority within a TCCA-approved AMO.
Rolls-Royce M250 maintenance, inspection, overhaul, or OEM training.
Experience signing Authorized Release Certificates (Form One) or equivalent airworthiness documentation.
Familiarity with CEBs, ADs, and life-limited component tracking programs.
Experience working in a gas turbine engine overhaul environment.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation aligned with experience and qualifications.
Comprehensive benefits package including Health and Dental coverage.
Group RRSP program with employer contributions.
Training and development opportunities to support career growth.
