We’re in the business of uplifting people, and every day, we create runways to new places and possibilities, building a better airport experience for everyone.

WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE

An airfield equipment operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of airport facilities. They are responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery, such as runway sweepers, snowplows, snowblowers, grass cutters, paint carts, and asphalt patching equipment to keep the airfield in optimal condition. With a keen eye for detail and a strict adherence to safety protocols, these operators contribute significantly to the efficiency and reliability of airport operations.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate heavy, medium, and light-duty equipment to maintain airport airside and groundside infrastructure, surfaces, and facilities throughout the year.
Perform manual labour and equipment servicing tasks, including changing broom cores, replacing plow blades, and preparing equipment for operational readiness.
Pavement patching of airfield surfaces, groundside surfaces and various operationally required facilities, including anything from fences to roadways.
Maintain airport security fencing, gates, signage, and airside and groundside surfaces to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations to prevent serious accidents and ensure the safety of all personnel and aircraft.
Support airport operations during adverse weather events and emergency response situations by assisting with snow and ice control, debris removal, and other critical airfield maintenance activities.
Participate in an extensive FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control program.
