Position Overview

We are looking for a Director, Growth Operations to build and lead Calian’s Growth Operations function. This is a unique opportunity to establish the operating framework, governance, processes, reporting, and forecasting discipline that will support scalable and predictable growth across the organization. Working closely with Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, Capture, and business unit leaders, you will create consistency in how opportunities are managed, measured, and forecasted while improving visibility into pipeline health, commercial performance, and revenue outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a driven, hands-on leader with vision and the ability to cast influence across a matrixed organization, drive adoption of new ways of working, and translate growth priorities into measurable business results.

Responsibilities

Establish and lead an enterprise Growth Operations framework that supports pipeline development, sales execution, forecasting, performance management, and commercial governance.
Create consistent operating rhythms, opportunity management practices, reporting standards, and performance measures across the Growth organization.
Improve pipeline visibility, opportunity progression, forecasting accuracy, and alignment between sales activity and financial planning.
Own CRM governance, data quality, reporting effectiveness, workflow optimization, and user adoption.
Develop dashboards and reporting that provide actionable insights into pipeline health, commercial performance, opportunity progression, and forecast reliability.
Support opportunity qualification, capture management, account planning, stakeholder engagement, and long-cycle pursuit activities.
Partner with Growth, Finance, Marketing, IT, and Business Unit leaders to identify and resolve process gaps, improve accountability, and strengthen commercial execution.
Monitor pipeline activity, identify stalled opportunities, and help drive appropriate actions and follow-up.
Support the adoption of AI, automation, analytics, and productivity tools that improve operational effectiveness and decision-making.
Lead the ongoing development of the Growth Operations function as it evolves and expands.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in Growth Operations, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Business Operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience owning forecasting, pipeline management, sales operating rhythms, and commercial performance reporting.
Strong CRM governance, reporting, analytics, and data management experience.
Experience building and implementing operational frameworks, processes, and governance models across multiple teams or business units.
Strong understanding of how Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Capture functions work together throughout the customer acquisition lifecycle.
Experience influencing stakeholders across complex matrixed organizations.
Strong communication, facilitation, change leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Experience translating business requirements into scalable processes, systems, and reporting structures.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience with long-cycle B2B sales environments, capture management, government, defence, aerospace, enterprise technology, professional services, or similarly complex markets is considered an asset.
Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable CRM platforms
Experience with AI-enabled productivity, reporting, analytics, or automation tools is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements

Ability to work effectively in a remote and highly collaborative environment.
Ability to travel periodically to Ottawa and other Calian locations as required.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government Level II (Secret) Security Clearance.

Compensation

~$160,000 to $180,000

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for short-term and long-term incentive programs.
